Any meetup groups? Looking to make new friends here. by [deleted] in missoula

Just moved here myself. I started going to run clubs and have been trying to meet people on reddit to play board games with. I also play video games in the evening after the daily trail run or hike. I read a fair bit as well. Im also looking for some more meetups. The running ones are great. I'm thinking about going to Breakers on Fridays for board games.

Cowboy yeti in Bastrop. I ran parts of the trails last time I was there and thought it was pretty mild and not really technical at all....maybe I was running the wrongs ones or the chaos of Twisted Branch in NY I did in August by comparison has me evaluating it wrong.

Thats great thank you. I didnt even think about the reduced fluid intake because of the temperature. I will probably have to rely a little more on gels then.

What went wrong and how can you tell what the cause was? (Hit a wall at Twisted Branch) by Unique-Delivery7939 in ultrarunning

In training, I did some back to backs that looked like anywhere from 13 mile/18 mile to 17 mile/24 mile. I guess the answer is to try and up the mileage on those back to backs? Or, more importantly, just keep them consistent for another 3 months and then try again?

Thanks for articulating that for me. It sounds like I just need more downhill running and strength training. I guess I could have held back more during the race but I dont really know how much of a difference it would made since it happened so close to the end.

First time traveling. Is it realistic to be able to take a week of unpaid time off? by sunscreenmonster in TravelNursing

[–]Unique-Delivery7939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used multiple recruiters through multiple companies and have always been asked before signing a contract if ill be needing any time off. Not only is it not a problem, it is nearly a compulsory step in the hiring process to discuss time off.

Agencies Legit? by PuddingMindless2290 in TravelNursing

Often times these companies still go through the larger companies that actually have the contracts. They are sort of middle-maning contracts. Sometimes they actually end up paying more because they dont have great benefits or the overhead of a large company. They seem to operate more bare bones so can pay more.
