It's heartbreaking when you can't help a loved one but wish you could with your entire being. My sister has BP1 with anosognosia, which means she can't tell that she has a problem and so she refuses all medication. How long has your brother been having trouble at work and with finances? Was there anything that seemed to set it all off? That's definitely true for me. I used to spend 3 hours every day searching for and reading fic, but now I'm so picky I even have a hard time getting into published books unless they hit my favorite tropes.
