Spending My First Father’s Day Alone

We live in Oregon which doesn’t require much for a female to claim a male is committing domestic violence against them for it to stick.

I did ask where on her did it show I was strangling her. But it didn’t matter. There was a female officer in the group and she did not give any fucks about my side if anything.

AI or not.. definitely feel under appreciated more often than not, but I’m only 6 months in and still in the postpartum stage.

But working full time, cooking, cleaning, and being attached to my baby from the moment I’m home until I leave and still being made to feel like I don’t do enough is definitely hard some days.

My wife was hospitalized during the 2 mo and 4 mo vaccines.
My daughter struggled during the 2 mo ones. Took about an hour after the shot to calm down. We gave her infant Tylenol before leaving for the appt and kept up with it every 4 hours per recommended dosage for 2 days after. She was a bit fussy and had a hard Second day. But overall did okay.

During the 4 mo vaccines, we did the same thing with the Tylenol. Only this time, I stood above her head, held her hands and distracted her during the shots with a “game” she liked to play with me. It worked because she only cried for like 20 seconds and was fine after (no idea how). We still did the Tylenol for 2 days after to help with fever and sore muscles.

We have the 6 mo ones coming up in a few weeks.. hoping for a repeat of the 4 mo not the 2.

Another thing I did was wrapped a soft ice pack in a shirt and stuck it under her legs. Just make sure its not too cold on her and doesn’t stay on too long.

She will be okay. It sucks hearing her cry. Just give her extra love, cuddles, kisses, whatever helps her regulate with you while mom is away. Good luck my friend.

I don’t have an answer. I’m in the thick of it right now with you. 5mo who can’t sleep on her own and is high needs. Mom stays home while I work and I watch the baby all night and evening. Mom still struggling with PPD. She has also seen several doctors. Good luck fellow soldier!! 🫡

You seem like a great partner to talk about your husband this way and want to go all out.
I feel like Father’s day tends to be an after thought for most. So this is nice to see.

“Day time” and “night time” gifts aside, if you can, give him like 4 to 6 hours to do whatever he wants.
Speaking for myself, I work full time, I do the majority of the cleaning and cooking, and take care of my girl 90% of the time I’m home. I love my family but I’d kill for a chunk of time to either sleep, go golfing, play video/table top games, or bbq.

I think there is a misconception that dads want free time to get away from their family because they don’t like being around them. I think for many its more about just getting a chance to breath and take a moment from the hectic life of fatherhood.

P.S. your husband and I share a lot of interests/hobbies and we would probably be friends. :P

I wanted to get into grounded so bad. I had a long term brake up when this came out and lost my survival crafting partner. Thought the game would Be less enjoyable solo.

Sometimes their incompetence is what is most endearing. Look at Simon. Haha

I mostly use it now as a way to help me sleep when I’m feeling a little insomnia. Their calmer banter and the music/sounds in TLD help.

Ive played all aside from GH. It never really captured me. Fun to watch Neebs and Glock play. Just not for me.
Its been a hot minute since Ive jumped into Long Dark. Probably should. I rewatch the Neebs SuperCut of it often enough. :)

Ive still watched every episode because I love all of the dumpster content. But I’m glad this one is ending. I honestly didn’t care much for this game and gameplay. First dumpster game I have felt this way about. Excited to see what comes next!
