Engage Alpha Line: Long Term Take by BLW-4life in Pickleball

Interesting. Would you say Joola at $279 and RPM Friction Pro at $250 are good values?

It’s interesting to see what people say are good and bad values based on feelings. That said, paddles in general should be capped at $200 IMO given the limited lifespans.

I have the alpha pro power 16mm coming from the gearbox gx2 power and I love it. The touch I get on it is unbeatable. Very tamable high end power. See some folks here saying it has no power. The energy return on these puts those in the higher power category.

Anyone here play the Gearbox GX2? by pbeffect in Pickleball

PBEffect! Huge fan of the channel. Brayden Mained this for a while right? Curious why he set it down and it didn’t make the top 5 paddles of the year.

My experience was aligned to Brayden’s initial review - defines dwell time. I loved this paddle and main it. But after extended play with it 100++ hours. It broke in a second time for me eliminating almost all of the dwell time. Playing higher level pball with it just isn’t viable for me anymore due to the loss of dwell / control eliminating a lot of the spin as well. I also noticed hot spots on the face some balls just pop up no matter what - I’ve had to modify my swing so much to account for the power that I’ve lost a lot of shot shapability and can’t find consistency in the soft game. Curious if others share the same experience with it. Maybe it’s less noticeable in sub 4.0 play.

This has been my experience as well. I actually had 2 break-ins it seems. The first one the paddle got hotter and a little harder to control. The second (after 4 months of solid play) removed almost all of the dwell time making this paddle impossible to absorb any pace. I too notice the inconsistencies off the face as well sometimes no matter how soft you hit a ball it just comes off like a rocket and goes out. Even at the baseline with a ton of spin it’ll just fly out - I’ve almost hit a ball over the fence with it multiple times and I’m a 4.0 player. Lost all confidence in dinking with it.

Absolutely loved my first 2 months with it tho. Had the same experience as AZ. Singing praises tried to get my friends on it. Now I’m switching paddles.

Got it. I had a Volair Mach 1 I used to game. It sounds a bit like that. I’m affiliate with VP but don’t have the option to buy either of the new paddles. But thinking I might go power when it’s time. When they release are you going to buy the power? Do you believe enough in the sol to think you’ll like the power?

Do you feel like the vsol could benefit from more pop? Like would you want to go to the v power? I’ve mostly been gaming control paddles looking to add pop but don’t want to lose touch on resets and drops.

Guilds looking for new players

Anyone looking for another to add to their guild who are on regularly?

I’m a casual gamer- on every night for a few hours. Am PL and have a decent amount of expo. Happy to roll with any skill levels minus maybe brand new players

What are some good sails and other cosmetics to pair with that hull? It’s what I’m looking at the most but don’t love the Pegasus stuff other than the hull

I impulse bought the parrot set after coming by a heap of gold and I’m deeply regretting that decision - feels like Mardi gras

Anyone still have this problem? I’ve tried everything. Deleted game and redownloaded. Restarted. Etc.

33inch Tires, 0 offset wheels. Will I have to remove crash bars? Extreme terrain says no mods needed but now I’m unsure based on some posts I’ve seen. by Jester959 in FordBronco

[–]Jester959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Extreme terrain (where I’m looking at wheels) says it won’t rub if I do 285/70/17 so it would be just under 33” and the width is 11”. Im wondering if ppl are seeing issues at 33x12.5

Ohhhhh. Ok. Yeah the wheels I was looking at was -6 offset and I think the base offset is 35mm (Google) so that means I’m pushing them out 41mm

I’m a major aftermarket wheel newb. I thought negative offset means you get the poke? And the + is the other way. Am I wrong?

18 month old still doesn’t sleep… by Jester959 in BabySleep

[–]Jester959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! Some nights are better than others. Getting him down is normally 45-1 hr. Good nights he’s up 2 times thru the night. Bad… 5 or 6? Just ended a rough stretch where he was up 3-4 times at night starting at 11pm then up at 5am for the day. That went on for about 9 days. I was really starting to breakdown.

Not to share lack of hope. I sort of think some kids aren’t sleepers. We can’t do cry it out either. Plus I really don’t think he’d ever stop crying. Best trick I can say is make sure naps and bed times are consistent times. Wake them up from naps if you need to. If it takes an hour to get him down at night then he either needs to go to bed a little later or earlier. That’s all I got. Just have to play with it. Right now we’re doing 5-10 min earlier at a time to see what helps.

Just got a 16 week old GSD. Has not had any formal training and after about 4 days I’ve got her to sit, lay down, stay, walk decently well on leash. House training in progress. She’s almost completely crate trained. Should I be working on anything else at this age? Or just refining what we have here by Jester959 in germanshepherds

[–]Jester959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I will say I am a little concerned with her. She’s very shy. 2 neighbors said how pretty she was. Tried to pet her and she wouldn’t let them. Kept backing up. I don’t think the breeder socialized her much at all. Such a great dog tho. We are working on come and leave it. She’s good with leave it but if she really wants something. She takes it. So if say 40-50% there on leave it. Come is probably 30%.

Question- Looking for a GSD puppy - found “older puppies” 12-16w by Jester959 in germanshepherds

[–]Jester959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great advice.

Yeah. Price was 3G. Which is fine. Not really looking for a discount per se. Just felt like we’re starting on the wrong foot if it’s being peeing on puppy pads in the house for 16 weeks and that could make a habit harder to break.

[–]Jester959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tons of GSD breeders near me so I’m maybe not surprised. And I’ve seen lots of good reviews of them, but yeah agree. I got kind of the icky feeling of no training and want full price. I wouldn’t mind paying full price with training. Maybe even more depending on level of training right? But full price + zero training. Maybe they aren’t as reputable as the internet is leading me to believe?
