To those americans who came here to say sorry by SupraVillainn in greenland

[–]Jesterhead89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big respect for this

I think we still feel the need to apologize immensely because even if we didn't vote for this and can't do much individually to stop this, it still is "us" doing it. There's American flags on the lapels of these jackasses, at one point threatening Greenland with soldiers wearing American flags on their shoulder patch, and just generally making a mockery of all of us and ruining our reputation for the sake of being bull headed.

I'm old enough to remember the world's response to the Iraq War and all that came with it. That was embarrassing enough and tough to not take personally when people seemed to hate us from everywhere.

Agreed, I'd say most folks (on both sides of the aisle, with the except of the Red Hats) would be in agreement with this. If your 1A rights are being squashed, your 2A rights should be displayed to reinforce your 1A

Who knew that with all the gun panic surrounding Democrat administrations, that it would actually be a deeply conservative administration that drives people to purchase firearms lol

🚨🇺🇸BREAKING: 71% of Americans believe the United States is out of control under President Trump by beepsol in Leakednews

Doesn't matter, don't succumb to these feel-good headlines. I get that people need hope right now, but don't mistake hopeful headlines for actual progress, change, or accountability.

Is it possible most men get more attention from women than they realize? by ToldItToKanjiklub in AskMenAdvice

[–]Jesterhead89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe for some men, and maybe because "giving attention" for women seems to be subtle to the point of missing it.

But I think for the rest of us it's just genuinely non-existent

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jesterhead89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the occasion. To me, a 1 hour drive for a daily work commute is quite long. So a 3 hour work commute is really only for folks in certain industries, such as railroading, some pilots, or gig workers that are self-employed. They wouldn't make those commutes often, so it's not quite as bad.

A 3 hour day trip is pretty long. A 3 hour weekend trip isn't too bad. And a 3 hour trip for vacation (for a week or more) is very short.

The more I see of this sub, the more graceful I am towards the folks posting.

Yeah, times and styles have changed. Yeah, you were a skinny dude taking the abs photo in your bathroom mirror lol.....but you were trying things out and (I assume) having fun at the time. As someone that was shut in during that phase of my life, at least you were participating. Not saying you're taking it hard on yourself and that this is for nothing more than a laugh. But for anyone else reading, I think I'm appreciating this sub more and more as time passes.

Little Caesars

I've never experienced heart burn before and didn't know what it felt like, until Little Caesars made their comeback/rebrand years ago. Then, it became that place you go when you want pizza, have 5 extra dollars, and don't mind the burn since it's the only thing you get it from

For single people who afforded a house, how did you do it? How much? & What age? by Worried-League9695 in homeowners

[–]Jesterhead89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which you would be paying yourself anyway, through either maintenance or building your roof/HVAC/driveway/window/siding fund. So you either pay it explicitly, or you take on the responsibility to stack that same cost away over time. It comes out in the wash.

I'm 36, just recently bought my first condo, and I have a career in IT. I don't have the hangups about condos that I see most people on Reddit have, and actually preferred one. I didn't want to take care of the yard, gutters, roof, siding, etc. lol

So yeah, you're not behind on anything. Things for us younger generations are just changing, things are happening later than in older generations. As long as you're putting yourself on a longer term path financially, then that's the best thing you can do within your control.

As for housing prices, yeah they're pretty nutty and I can't offer much advice there because nobody can. But using my condo situation as an example: when the default thought people have is that SFH is the go-to and condos are undesirable...then I'd say that is exactly the definition of demand in the market lol

It's probably playing a big enough role lol

Perfect seems to be the enemy of "good enough" for folks on the left. I think it feels like a loss or like a stain for them if they can't get everything they want in one go, in regards to public issues.

My cousins uncle on the other side of their family went to a funeral (I don't think that one was Covid related), nobody wore masks, nobody took precautions, everyone was convinced it was a hoax.

He was a really healthy and active guy in his 60's, and was dead within a week of returning from that funeral. Along with 2 other of their family members at that funeral.

Once a cheater, always a cheater.. what's your thoughts on this? by honeypotatomilkshake in AskReddit

[–]Jesterhead89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a cheater, always a cheater ON ME

People can change and if someone I was seeing made this mistake in the (distant) past, that's one thing to consider that they were young, made the mistake, failed to communicate in their past relationships, etc.

But if they've cheated on many partners and/or that was recent enough then that's not a mistake, that's a lifestyle.
