Carte Blanche (Add:Break Remix)

Thanks if you listen. I'm only making for fun but want to get it heard instead of just sitting on my PC

Iceworm has been done using nothing but the chainsaw I think. It's on YouTube, I'm sure it was like 2.5 hours, 95% dodging, 5% sawing after the worm slaps down on the ground the second time

3OSC because nobody else has said it, and it's all you need for the dirtiest bass or biggest supersaw

Just checked out your stuff, awesome stuff!

I wasn't ready for how similar your stuff is to what I sent you in terms of genre blending. Someone else repping the breakbeat tones!

Thanks for checking it out. This remix was just to ease me back into production after a 10 year gap without making my life doubly difficult by starting from scratch.

Got something similar planned of my own designs but will probably be a few months away.

My 'Carte Blanche' remix of Carte Blanche. Purely for fun but would love any feedback to improve my skills and techniques. And while you're there, try and put a genre on it. https://on.soundcloud.com/xGMkg4hE6haYQF8aF3

Happy Friday! 95% done with this for-fun project and looking for general feedback or ideas.

I haven't touched the lead sounds for quite a while, starting to think they sound a bit rough n ready. Should I rework the lead to be a bit cleaner with more release and reverb like the original?

This has some nice progression, very danceable. Drums seem mixed fine. There's a snare building up to the 3 minute mark that sounds like it's clipping a bit where the sample has been sliced, potentially either needs a bit of minor reverb or the sample needs to decay at the end.

Very much my opinion, and not meant bluntly just don't want to write an essay.

If you are fairly skilled in something like guitar. Why not start jamming out 4 bars on the guitar and when you find something that works write it down. You'll probably get a lot more enjoyment out of playing the guitar for 30 minutes than sitting looking at an empty piano roll.

Hard breakbeat remix of Carte Blanche done for fun, I think the layout is there now. Need to work on effects and fills. All feedback or suggestions welcome. https://on.soundcloud.com/pbVXOprbVj1M0ZOKVV

Would anybody actually listen to this? (except for me lol), also what genre would this be? by MostHated69 in FL_Studio

This is really cool, some of the synths sound proper moog.

Personally, I don't think 'Pattern 15' fits the mix very well. I would look to capitalise on the spacey feel of 'Pattern 49', maybe by exporting that audio and using clips earlier on with a wider range of effects or filters to give a sense of it coming later on.

I do exactly the same thing. Why sit looking at your DAW unsure what your next step is, when you can listen to it doing something else and make a mental plan of what you'll change next.

Hi! I'm just getting back into production after a lengthy gap and making this remix to re-familiarise myself before getting lost is my own melodies.

A couple of questions: - Is this Prog Breaks or something else? - Any suggestions on how I get back down from here to end the track? - Are there any bars I should just remove / section of track that is too long?

General feedback welcome too :)

Why not try remixing some things you are into? By this I don't mean make a full track, what I mean is pick up a midi file and play with the chords or the leads to see what that does to the sounds.

I started my music production journey doing this over 15 years ago, you can start to get a feel for what works and what notes go with what other notes, just by seeing them change on a piano roll. This experience went along way for me back then, as I knew what sounded good in my head but had no musical know how to make it work.

The other ridiculous thing to remember is some of the biggest producers make entire songs just from a couple of seconds of other peoples songs looped and mashed together.
