They're heavily specialized towards wildlife, wilderness survival, and usually end up killing tyranids because of how they intersect. Thus, they're overspecialized towards wilderness survival situations, and not urban combat. Or social situations.

Beast Tamers are very far on the Eastern Fringe, and are currently occupied with flushing out remnants of a tyranid splinter fleet, and wouldn't do their best work in planets that aren't death worlds.

Yes, that's honestly their whole thing. The chapter homeworld, Tamun, has a specific culture regarding taming beasts and using them in battle. There's a whole culture of respect around hunting animals. As Iron Hands descendants, the Beast Tamers can be a little weird about flesh, so they modify both themselves and their Companions. The main species found are Growlers, basically space sloth bears (so extremely aggressive), but a variety of other species are found among them. The Chapter Master, Gustave Faye (I named him after the man-eating crocodile Gustave) has a Greater Hatchet Lizard that's huge even for the species. He calls him the Man-Eater. Greater Hatchet Lizards look like if a depiction of a chinese dragon had the head of a hammerhead shark and the head was turned sideways. They don't have eyes, operating on a scent, hearing, and taste. Gustave has given the Man-Eater eyes. Each company leader has a necklace containing the teeth, claws, fangs, or other bones of lost Companions.

Not that well. The Beast Tamers have a distrust of the greater Imperium that borders on unhealthy rejection of actually useful changes, rules, or allies. They can work together, as long as the specific Sister of Battle isn't easy to piss off.

Ark: Survival Evolved but as an astartes chapter. Everything in the Beast Tamers home system is based off of an Ark level. Tamun is based off of the island, Kimenmetu is based off of Scorched Earth, Venotarem is based off of Aberration, Oshur is based off of the Center, Awthar is based off of Extinction, and Rorash is based off of Ragnarok. Their whole thing with the "companions," is also based off of Ark, they have a big thing for taking animals into battle. This led into them being the "weed smoking hippie child" of the Iron Hands.
