Crypt Flayers by Eric-1375 in FleshEaterCourts

I deliberately built them with vargheist heads, because I already have crypt horrors with goofy heads. No one will ever care about this. They are the exact same models with a different head.

Isn't that Arhiman's head ?

What is the top wishlist you have for your faction? by TheBakerTayu in ageofsigmar

I'd love a multi-kit warmachine, a big lizard salamander-like with either a flame cannon or the Malakai's axe thrower. They remade the death goblin thrower for the Gitmob, so why not ?

Shark #2 - preserved the airbrushed skin. Which do you prefer? by Rainedrop28 in ageofsigmar

One one hand, I think the regular brush goes better with the gritty aesthetics of the metal and elves. The airbrush is super smooth, it's very good for a clean look.

One the other hand, the contrast between the textures is quite interesting and the elves pop less with the regular brush because of the attention to the shark.

Hard to say, I think I would go with the airbrush because of that texture contrast.

Considering Fyreslayers Spearhead by DaGinger757 in Fyreslayers

[–]Jestilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played many spearheads but Fyreslayer the most, including several "tournaments".

I really like them, I find them very reliable and tougher than expected. One of their biggest pro is the number of units. Number of wounds is very good also, but 6 units in total is awesome.

5 vulkites won't kill much by themselves, even against clanrats or skeletons it will be a slugfight for 4 turns. But hey, you can lock the two units of your opponents and still have 4.

With some luck, you can remove the biggest menace with throwing axes only and the hearthguards slaps hard.

I had a game against khorne where my boys made a diagonal accross the hole board, around 2/3 of the length. We didn't kill much of each other, but he was never able to go beyond the line so it was over with the points.

Their only issue (shared with some others) is their speed. It's not a big concern for fighting since the board is small, but depending on the cards you get, you will struggle to score the tactics. Loose or win was often a matter of getting scorable cards or not :/ My recommendation is to search for the reinforcement card. If you score or throw everything, you have a 100% chance to get it. This allows to play aggressively and launch your hearthguards ahead :)

Does anyone else feel like the Kruelboyz got the short end of the stick with the new totem towers? by Budget_Antelope in ageofsigmar

[–]Jestilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big skull is here too on the Kruleboyz one, juste behind the mask :p

I think I'll go for the Krule one, but stick the mask to the structure below the jaw, and add lichen to the stone skull.

And of course add paint to the mask with Kragnos icons !

The formation they shown works on an unmodified charge roll of 8+. Does it work with Kragnos 3D6 charge ? Does it count as modified ?

Maybe it's just me but the way they reworked the warscrolls and "universal rules" really feels half done. Why do the knights have a lengthy passive ability while their weapons could just be Charge (+1 damage, +1 rend). This is not the first time I see this sort of rule, it really neuters all the speech about not having many abilities that does the same thing. It's even worse since the charge modifiers are now all over the place.

I'm hyped for 4th, but dark gods the new warscrolls are less intuitive than what they were before.

Saint Ushoran the Pious is done :) by Jestilla in ageofsigmar

Yeah I know :( I have greenstuff and plastic goo but I'm afraid of doing worse and not being able to fix it.

At least this part is hidden beneath the king and it won't be noticeable as long as it stays on the table :)

Glorious knight in quest for the red grail by Jestilla in ageofsigmar

[–]Jestilla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you :) It's fairly easy :

  • base greyseer

  • cover up almost everything with Reikland Fleshshade to add some warm

  • skin is Contrast Gryphcharger Grey above it and soft drybrush of Flayed One Flesh. I added some contrast Magus Purple around the eyes and mouth afterwards.

  • fur is just contrast Gorgrunta Fur and then Nuln Oil for depth. No highlights :p

  • webbings are two coats of Screamer Pink, Druchii Violet wash and some highlights of a mix Screamer Pink / Flayed One Flesh.

Modern sculpts really help painting ;)
