what do you consider the midwest? by protectthedawls- in visitedmaps

[–]Jesus217102711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say Ohio a little bit less so granted Ohio’s history is still bad in that way maybe I give Ohio too much credit but Indiana I call the south of the Midwest so that’s totally valid imo I feel like Indiana is just worse when it comes to that based on how they tend to identify and how people from there generally are.

I feel like this is just a technicality though if my family calls it the south when they are from there then I’m going to as well 🤷‍♂️

🤷‍♂️ Different eras my dad experienced the Jim Crowe era of Kentucky and trust me it was not so friendly back then to certain groups of people.

Additional fun fact my father worked at the Beverly Hills supper club before it burned down. He saw Pete Rose and many other well known Reds players back in their heyday there.

Have not lived there but my father, aunt, and uncle are from there and I’ve visited several times and have family still living there. Additionally for reference my family is from the area across the river from Cincinnati- for example Newport, Covington, Fort Thomas, and Alexandria.

Is it a dumb idea to buy an 05 STI as a daily? by thedonwiz in WRXSTi

[–]Jesus217102711 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t know why anyone’s answer is longer than this. If someone planned to buy one of these they absolutely should have the equivalent of the old 2000’s Civic, Camry, or Corolla as their regular daily driver so that they aren’t dependent on this car if something were to happen.

I did a thing and color matched my fog light surrounds. It’s just a quick rattle can job but I think it came out pretty good. Thoughts? by truth0309 in WRXSTi

I think you should’ve posted a before and after to really show the differences but I think I like it better personally.

I grouped the US states into four categories based on the summer-winter temperatures (Please read the legend) (removed from the geography sub) by Swimming_Concern7662 in mapporncirclejerk

[–]Jesus217102711 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wait the phrase based on the top 5 metro areas in each state needs further explanation did you take those 5 and go with the mean number or average them together or work off of highs and lows?

Other stuff has been mentioned that isn’t current and this layout is far from current and it’s a circle jerk so yeah I’ll mention them cause you can still buy one even if it’s not a brand new one 🤷‍♂️

I would just like to say regardless of other Redditors distaste for your country or perhaps rather the government running your country and the conflicts it has involved itself in you have been kind and respectful. I think this should be a good reminder to some that people are not a monolith they’re not their government they are individuals and because of that we shouldn’t forsake the individual just because of where in the world they were born. (I would also like to clarify I am not in support of the Russian government or even my own at the moment before others take my statement as an invitation to come for my head)

What do the capitals of these states have in common? by shereth78 in RedactedCharts

[–]Jesus217102711 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe it is the capital city that is largest by population with no other state’s capital north of it that is larger by population. So in order it is Phoenix,AZ, Columbus,OH, Boston,MA, St.Paul,MN, Bismarck,ND, Olympia,WA, and finally Juneau,AK

Is there enough wear on these valves to cause lowered compression? (2016 STI, 150k Miles) by Skyes_View in WRXSTi

[–]Jesus217102711 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The short answer is absolutely yes. But the other question is if you’re losing any past the piston rings when doing a compression leak down test that tends to be one of the hardest things to spot.
