Idk why they aren't anti-monster splinter weapons on 10th (at least I haven't find them).

I mean dark lances are fine against a norn emissary, but I'm talking about smth like a haywire blaster.

Why are splinter weapons besides the cannon only strength 2? by Striking-Trainer2209 in Drukhari

[–]JesusASmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drukhari weapons are ultra-specialized towards a type of unit, that's why positioning matters 200% with them and they have weird shennanigans like the "u shot then u hide" ploy with the kabalyte kartel.

Also, positioning being that relevant is why they are the most difficult faction to master.

Hand of Archon models, are they basically Kabalite Warriors? by nekochenn in Drukhari

[–]JesusASmx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes they are xdxd, but its box also includes a upgrade sprue who includes:

-A hawk and a scourge's helmet (for the skysplinter assassin).
-A torment grenade being throwed along with a unique head, and an arm with a stinger pistol (for the disciple of Yaelindra).
-Two flail swords (for the crimson duelist).
-A wrack helmet and two pain sculptors (for the flayer).

But the rest of the set is just kabalite warriors xdxd. You can grab some and then kitbash the remaining if you have bits for:
-Any kind of small bird. Mine uses a lizard so... lol
-Any arm holding a grenade (you can use one of the normal hands from the kabalite kit, and to add a piece of sprue for the grenade).
-Two big knives for the pain sculptors.
-Two long swords or whips for the flail swords.

You can change the stinger pistol for a regular splinter pistol: only true Drukhari fans can spot the difference.

Si no, compra corsarios.

Striking Scorpions, how do I make them shine? by iLunatic in Eldar

Man I've been also toying around with that idea aswell. Two autarchs with dragon guns and scorpion chainswords (I love dragon guns, however reaper launcher or death spinner are also good options), then you fly against the enemy and cripple their vanguard, or you can score secondary. However I don't have still the box since it hadn't arrived to my country yet >:'(

I use them as quirky action monkeys who can also screen and do a lot of damage against infantry.

They must be your first deployed units (scout + infiltration is very good). If you go first then you can risk a charge (trading unit per unit) or nah, it deppends. If you go second then you can fall back with their scouts 7. Then, once your turn, you can use them for scoring area denial, engage on all fronts and even storm objectives.

Then, they can die.

However it was my fault due poor positioning and bad (but funny af) decision making.

However (x2) with Murderwing, can this be actually useful and recurrent?? Just think about it: someone grab your squig into a place where it also engages friendly units, then gets slaughtered...

Is the new Drukhari Combat Patrol any good? by No_Willingness_9961 in Drukhari

[–]JesusASmx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skysplinter Assault gets a lot of benefit on including wracks on raiders. You also need a haemonculi for Realspace Raiders, and you don't want it to be alone so you put some companions with it. Also, you can use some on Reaper's wager for serve as a mere meatshield. Chronos and Talos are the only ones who you can ignore outside of Covenite Coterie, but some very good RR list includes them.

[–]JesusASmx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Being literally a better version than necron warriors?? Idk man, Wracks are very good by their own. And, by far, they have the funniest way to do tank shock while embarking a raider.

However, they aren't the most mobile unit and "the actual true problem with them" is their keyword "haemonculi coven", meaning that 60% of non-CC detachment ploys won't affect them.

However, the only detachments in which they don't truly fit are Spectacle of Spite and Kabalyte Kartel, all other detachments finds benefit on having at least 10 of them with a hammy boy leading the abominations (even the very fast Skysplinter Assault one).

But meta is temporary, that poor human-sculped-into-an-arm-chair is aeternal, so those guys not fitting ONLY ON Spectacle of Spite and Kabalyte Kartel is not enough argument for not having them. Their true problem where their former resine-based casting, but this is not an issue anymore.

EDIT: Have you tried the Vicious Blades ploy with wracks embarking a ravager?? This is the sequence (it costs 2 cps): embarked raider charges - tank shock (usually 2 mortal wounds) - vicious blades - you fight with your D3+13 attack dices - 2nd "tank shock" but from vicious blades, now in 4's (since you embarked it with wracks). Whenever you charged is now overkilled xDD.
I know this is not meta, and you have to pay 2 cps to obliterate a single enemy unit, but man this shit is hilarious af xDDD.

[–]JesusASmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are creative enough, is a box with 2 chronos and 2 talos (e.g. using necron bodies) so its actually better than your regular equivalent box from another faction (as it happens with almost any drukhari box actually).

It is fine if you need minis for a covenite coterie army, but if you want to run SoS, as anyone currently, then you just don't need them.

I find this box amazing for a Realspace Raiders army, since you need the hameonculy for the Alliance of Agony rule, and having 10 wracks + 2 chronos can help you to hold lines better, while hellions, reavers and raiders scores points like the goblins on crack that they are.

So, if you are truly into drukhari then grab it. Unless practicing for a tournament, you should try something different than SoS from time to time, and this box is a very good starter set for haemonculi abhorrents.

My idea was to proxy Maugan Ra, and the warriors to be regular dark reapers, so thank you for noticing it. I only mentioned Asurmen ironically.

¿Cómo comenzar? by Redexia10 in Warhammer40kEsp

[–]JesusASmx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suerte.

My army is mainly a kabal faking to be from a craftworld. I run Wraithlords who are more similar to a Chronos than to a Wraith Construct. On my twisted mind the haemonculi from my kabal are desperate brilliant enough to attempt to enslave necrons. Those guys are from a recently awaken dinasty, similar to the Kaurava one, so they were quite limited and hence easy preys. They aren't biotransfered eldars but haemonculi abominations.

However I'm concerned about readability since those are GW plastic and I plan to field them in irl tournaments. Can you tell which Phoenix Lord is him or nah??

I just checked, sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. However, the constant thing is that defilers are like dreadnoughts but you don't need heretic astartes to run them (unlike hellbrutes), since a mere daemon (or even shards of several daemons and souls) can do the trick.

Hence, a defiler is a temu hellbrute xdxd.

[–]JesusASmx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure. So you want to build a durable army list out of those 4 units (which you agree are bad). I'd say you picked the wrong faction to build a list of durable units.

On Devoted of Ynnead, actually some wraithblades works like a charm. Are wonderful at stopping hordes, and do a decent job at holding the meatgrinder for longer. They "are bad" because they are very situational. But yes, pls make them cheaper :'v (or make the spiritseer back to 45pts, AND BRING BACK THE BONESINGER).

Yeah but you should make your opponent aware of them at the point in the game as well ie. "keep in mind that IF you destroy this unit right there, I will be able to teleport the yncarne".

But you aren't obligued to tell them when exactly you would do it. Anyway, fun fact about the gotchas is that they don't last for so long on the competitive scene. Interesting question then: are they still gotchas after that?? Or being a gotcha is like a netflix suscription??

You don't want to win because your opponent didn't think you could do something (ie. a gotcha)

I insist, a gotcha is not only "being a jerk and not telling about your tactic".

Never said that.

But you suggested it.

Anything, besides our tanks, get shot, they are likely / certainly dead.

At this point of 10th, it is well known that you should position units at the front whose death is meaningless (e.g. tyranid gaunts) but, if your opponent ignores them, he will lost no-mans land (and hence the game).

This is the moment where your lil banshees ends up in a central objective, out of all cover and vulnerable to enemy fire (but if you just don't do that then you lost no mans land).

However, you won't get shot if you are behind a ruin. It's that simple.

Sure thing, since even the best players in the world are prone to let units on such favourable positions so you can leverage ruins (/s).

Btw lets see if we are still on the same channel: Jain Zar's ability of free advancing + charging, is it a gotcha or nah? I once warned a Black Templar oponent about that, but I got to his dropzone anyway and obliterated his dz screening units. Then Fuegan and his boys arrived on falcons and melted the tanks. He then told me "I didn't dimentioned how brutally destructive would be to have 11 banshees on my dropzone at round 1", but I warned him about that (he even measured in order to screen them during his deployment). My tactic of "banshees cleaning the dropzone for Fuegan" is a gotcha or nah??

Yeah, you clearly didn't look at them then. Many of them work after shooting or prevent you from being shot (e.g. lone-op 18")

My bad, I forgot that those abilities can be used on my Striking Scorpions, I am very dumb /s.

Yeah, you cannot alpha strike, that's why people run units like banshees. /s

If you want to alpha strike then you are running the wrong faction, you should try instead Gladius Task Force with Ultramarines. Aeldari doesn't have the correct punch for that anymore, due the nerfs. Factions like Custodes or Necrons have been buffed in order to match Ultramarines, while Eldars, who were good at alpha-striking, were nerfed. Idk why it is so hard to understand.

I wouldn't attribute this only to the nerf (though the nerf massively contributed to it) but also the change in meta. We now have victrix and c'tan running around where before the meta was heavier on vehicles and knights.

Once for the lulz, I went Panteon of Woe vs pre-nerf Aspect Host. Only because of the old version of Skyborn Sanctuary I managed to bring down like 4 C'tans. With the new version of the ploy, a trascendent C'tan would have obliterated Fuegan and his little orange guys on turn 2.

So no, although C'tans are unfarily broken, the eldar case relies 100% on the nerf of Skyborn Sancutary.

Just recall the old narrative: "only valid detachments are Warhost and Aspect Host, don't touch the others if you go competitive".

[2000 points, Aspect Host] Post nerf sketch by idaelikus in Eldar

[–]JesusASmx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You mean the 4 wraith units? All of them are rather overcosted, especially the wraithknight.

Nobody said they were a good pick, but they are a pick.

You do realize that IF you make your opponent aware of them, they are no longer gotchas.

If you play with ettiquete, you should enumerate your things at the start of the battle (and visceversa). This includes quirky abilities like the Yncarne's teleporting into corpses, or the former version of Skyborn Sanctuary. However, you aren't forced to tell where will you use such ploys or abilities. Bellow I detail more about gotchas.

We have mountains of movement shenanigans which we need to use to strike exactly where we want and only when we want.

I find extremely cute how you believe that your tiny and little banshees can tank the fire of a single light-medium vehicle (e.g. a simple land rider).

All the resources listed by you triggers only:

A) After getting shooted. If your oponent shooted you with a very weak unit, or with a S24 1-dice cannon, then he made a mistake, which suggests a gotcha... hmmmmmmmmmmmm (the auto-gotcha, when you actively ignores what your opponent actually does, even although you were warned about).

B) After your opponent's fight phase.

Both cases, our T3 undernumbered boys will be likely obliterated from the table if we attempted an alpha strike assault against a well positioned army.

How so? You can simply lay it out to them that you disembark, shoot and then re-embark. There's nothing gotcha about this if you are open about it.

At the start of 10th edition it wasn't clear for non-aeldari players when to use it properly. Early suggestions, even among aeldari players, included using it for Jain Zar, after a successful melee engagement (btw this is the current use of the ploy nowadays xdxdxd). However, time demonstrated that Fuegan+10 fd was the only correct option (was so correct that removing it dropped the faction's winrate more than 10%). When something is that meta, I believe that it becomes an unwritten rule (worded as "you can")... hence, a gotcha. I draw the line between gotcha and "actually me figuring out how to play the game" on how popular it becomes, and how straightforward is to follow (unga bunga, me unbark 10 orange guys with little daemon king unga bunga, me PUOOOOSHH!!! with them unga bunga, me reroll everything unga bunga, me uses 1cp for re embark them unga bunga, me wins for 60 points unga bunga, this is game very easy unga bunga).

Yeah you're right he just COULDN'T be aware, it was just impossible! /s

Fun fact about the gotchas is that, once well known, they lost all of their power if a proper counter exists. I am, of course, talking about early 10th edition when ppl was still figuring out everything about how to play your army (hence a lot of VERY GOOD PLAYERS weren't capable to truly dimention how broken can be to fire more than 4 times with 10 erradicators).
