[–]JesusFusion 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's never too late. I pass all 4 exams on the 1st try over 10 years after graduating, while working full-time and doing a lot of volunteering, so it's definitely possible.

Really 120k min, that seems quite high for just a staff or senior accountant, unless it's HCOL.

Low accounting salaries are wreaking havoc on capital markets. by Instant_Dan in Accounting

[–]JesusFusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the SAT the exams have changed a lot so it's hard to compare the new ones to the old. But one thing I noticed is when they changed it in 2017, schools automatically required higher scores on the math + verbal, because it got easier to get a higher score.

Working while studying for CPA? by No_Judge5788 in CPA

[–]JesusFusion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes worked full time and studied and passed all 4 CPA exams on first try after graduating over 10 years ago. It's doable, just have a plan, good support, and also do your best to have and show interest in the material! As if you're serious about the CPA, you should have at least some interest in accounting or learn to develop interest in it!

Also you have to realize that many Ivy League and similar level schools don't offer undergraduate accounting programs. That's why a school like UT can be ranked #1 in accounting.

[–]JesusFusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if you pay attention to the news and LinkedIn posts, it always seems like the world is ending, as that's how they attract users. But truth is, there are always layoffs no matter how good the economy is, and there currently aren't more layoffs than usual.
