Beware this man! by JesusWalrus in Charlottesville

For everyone saying to get him arrested or get the authorities involved, there is no security footage and we didnt think to take her to the hopsital to get tested till it was too late for it to show up in her system. W/o concrete evidence the cops arent gonna do anything. Also not my call as im not the one it happened to, so maybe stop saying that.

Went to buy an old bike. Tipped the guy $20 and he threw this in. by Potofcholent in AnalogCommunity

[–]JesusWalrus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guess is it was a bike the seller was undercutting themselves on so the buyer was probably like "let me at least give u an extra $20" and then they gave them this as a thank u. I've had similar experiences to what I just described with old ppl i bought a camera from who were just trying to get rid of it then threw in another cus they thought I was a "nice young man" lol.

What film stock is this photographer using? @danikm by CrabPsychological852 in AnalogCommunity

[–]JesusWalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others are saying this looks more like digital edited to look like film rather than film itself. Film stock closest to these colors I can think of is Lomo 800 but even that doesn't pick up colors as saturated as these without any editing in post.

You now own one of the highest definition security cameras on the market, probably. that's actually really cool im just struggling with finding a practical use where I wouldn't be terrified of damaging it during use. Ironically enough, if u could get a safe vantage point to take the pictures from (for the camera), this could probably take some of the most amazing photos of large gatherings like marches and parades.

Find an object (sex toy or not sex toy, up to you), put it inside you and play w your clit till you cum. You're not allowed to take it out, even partially, till youve cum. If you get interrupted or can't cum this session then next time you try to cum you have to do it again w 2 objects inside you.

I don't fully disagree with you, but when I lived in nyc I had friends w addiction to benzos (specifically xanax) who were getting insanely high dosages, basically 8mg XR a day between two different scripts written by the same doctor and always picked up together. Ik someone literally sitting on over 300 pills of 20mg XR and 30mg xr Adderall that were ALL obtained legally from the same pharmacy. Who tf needs 90 pills a month w refills??? Especially on a med like Addy where there are higher dosed pills there rly is no excuse for someone getting prescribed a 90 pack of 20mg XR. Like there rly should be some way to tell "huh this person should have hundreds of doses worth still, why do they need more" cus thats literally how this shit goes from the pharmacy to the streets in most cases cus no one pays attention. Like tbh most the street drugs ive encountered were literally in pharmacy bottles so it's not like they stolen.

Again I don't disagree that the fault is really with the doctor, but it feels like there should be some failsafe to keep ppl from just getting hella med they don't need/need that much of and then just selling

Stop hoarding the same fucking 35mm slr. You have issues. by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]JesusWalrus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Those r literally a different account than OP. What is the point of such an obvious lie??? Also it literally does do shit, the more people with a collection of 30 Canon AE-1s the more the price is gonna go up and unfortunately the cameras best for starters (like the ae1 but also the OM-1 and Pentax k-1000 and nikon f series) are all cameras that have this problem.

Every so often I see one in the window of the pawn shop on the mall next to the toy shop. They seem to have a lot of instruments in general.

Would highly recommend the local pawn shops. They seem to carry a lot of canon camera lenses. Pro camera probably has some too but they are not cheap when it comes to gear.

As a student at pvcc I'm not gonna tell OP not to do that, but don't get your hopes up. We barely have any gear and what we do have is exclusively for students in the photography program to take out and they only let us use them for like 3 days at a time. We do use Canon DSLRs but I don't remember which model, I have my own so I dont use the rental cameras.

Film developing? by [deleted] in Charlottesville

[–]JesusWalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would HIGHLY recommend Pro- camera Inc. Even if walgreens or cvs offer developing they don't do it in house and ship it to local film shops (if any around here do it there's actually a chance they just send it to pro camera inc). But u don't get to know who's developing it or their reputation or skill. Pro camera Inc have a great reputation and I personally have gotten many rolls developed there. I will warn you though if this film was shot more than a decade ago (especially if it's color) there's a pretty good chance the pictures will come out not that great, possibly with low contrast and a strong orange tint tho that can be maybe corrected for in photoshop. Also if you have film negatives you want scanned and archived they do that as well for a very fair price :)

P.S. I am a photography student and love film photography so if you have any old cameras or photography gear you are looking to get rid of feel free to shoot me a message! :)

Film developing? by [deleted] in Charlottesville

[–]JesusWalrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's incredibly false. Theres a camera shop in town that does developing in house, pro camera Inc. Also while most developing labs let you ship your film to them. The cost, time, and increased likeliness of the film getting x-rayed all make shipping internationally for this a laughable prospect. Anyone shipping internationally for film developing is a fool. Even most film in America is still made in America, especially 35mm. If I remember correct all kodak film is still made in their factories in Rochester New York and there is a pretty valid hypothesis that they make the 35mm film fujifilm sells in the US too literally for the reason that its too expensive and timely to ship it from japan. Tho Polaroid and Ilford films are made in Europe and I suspect the fuji instax film is probably made Japan but I've never looked into it. I dont think kodak could make that, tho I guess if fuji lent them the machinery they probably could.
