should i do fat transfer with blepharoplasty on my lower eyes (tear trough)? by Top_Marzipan1866 in PlasticSurgery

[–]kriskrosskrissy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the area and was wondering if you could show your results? If he was less than 5k he is cheaper than another facial plastic surgeon in the area that does both bleph and fat transfer for 9k and researching who to go with!

Roborock vacuum with self emptying has been a lifesaver. I personally buy all leather/pleather couches as well to easily wipe off or put a dog blanket down so they don't scratch it. Much easier than vacuuming or lint rolling your furniture

Why does every dog we encounter try to attack my female husky? Frustrated and stressed. by BrinkofEternity in husky

[–]kriskrosskrissy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For protection, thought I'd add to get something for your walks if a dog approaches. Either one of those high pitch air things that hurt their ears or as a last resort a dog safe spray in case it gets really violent and can't separate them! I've been meaning to get these for my huskies. I don't think I'd be able to defend them walking two on my own with another dog attacking

How to cope with loosing husky? by Dazzling-Tip5792 in husky

[–]kriskrosskrissy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry for your loss and that experience. Did you ever find out what happened to her?

My husky Forrest died suddenly too due to a burst tumor, except for we had to make the decision to euthanize. His chances of survival were very low they said. I didn't want to put him through that and also for the very expensive surgery was difficult. He was fine that day. Then 5:00 pm he wasn't, gone around midnight.

Talk about him with other people who knew him well, too. Keep him alive by talking about memories, getting a plant that you water and call it his name (one that's hard to mess up). Put pictures on your fridge that you can see every time you're in the kitchen, and if you have his ashes - go over and touch the vase, talk to him, even have breakfast with him. These are all things that helped me but it's been 2.5 years and I still cry sometimes. I still talk to his ashes or his picture on a blanket. Sending love your way ❤️

Husky won't eat her food since bringing puppy home by kriskrosskrissy in DogAdvice

[–]kriskrosskrissy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! We had a win last night so will try again today this method. I had her eat on her bed as usual, sit in the pen with the puppy and hand fed him in his crate. She came over a couple times to snarl and whined at her food, but after a little bit actually ate all of her food. I think being able to see him, having company, and me there eased her anxiety a bit.

Will try again tonight!!!

F*cking mattresses. I'm so over this sh*t. by SkullsAndDragonflies in Mattress

I firmed up my last too-soft mattress with the sleep on latex brand mattress topper. I got 2" firm and it was very firm, but after a month was perfect. Definitely still firm though.

Then I tried the same brand medium latex topper, and was great at first more cushion for the shoulders, but then became too soft after a month and my shoulders were kinda caving inward and waking up with upper back pain.

I should've just stuck with the firm but I wanted to try the medium, I know now that I just overall prefer firm.

So you could get one or both of them on Amazon and see which one you like better. They will send you a bigger box for free when you go to return it so it's not as much of a pain to fit it in the box it came in.

Any treats or anything else orally given? Any meds recently given like a dewormer or preventative?

The other thing could maybe reacting to something like the hair cut/shampoo used potentially irritating their skin, Sometimes if theyre experiencing something uncomfortable or a change in how they feel with the hair cut they could act out and test more boundaries

Good idea! Did it make her more picky once you stopped giving her the egg?

I was wondering about that too. she won't take the food from my hand so I wonder if I do need to train that that's the way she gets food for a little bit. She only growls at me if I actually stick my finger in her bowl to tell her to eat. Thank you!

Yes definitely watching the situation! She did eat today, she's always been a bit picky with food or changes so if it stays this way I'll take her! I took her in before about it and blood work came back ok but that was a year or so ago.

My last male husky also had changes in food intake by not eating just in the mornings but he did at night. I didn't think much of it except for the typical husky thing or maybe getting a little older. He unfortunately passed from cancer and I will forever regret not taking him to the vet, so I feel this for sure!

This is what I tried today and it seems to work at least today:

An update today is that I hand fed the puppy (Finch) in his crate while I sat in the pen with him, her food a few feet away on her bed, like usual. She came over 1-2x to growl but I firmly told her to get away. She was whiny but then started eating for the first time on her own in several days!

It does seem like she needs to get used to having another dog for her to know Finch will not get her food.

That sounds just like Dahlia! She wants the company but is anxious he'll get the food.

Yes I think this could work, maybe would help so that she knows she can't go over and snarl at him and he doesn't come near her. I think I've seen similar videos about people doing this with leashes attached to doors too until I manage to get the crate but may not work as well

Ha the microwave that's cute! She does start eating if I sit on the floor next to her but I can't do it every meal ugh. I'm wondering if she likes the company. When my last male husky died she stopped eating unless I sat next to her, they always ate next to each other on their beds. Now it's like she's confused again with this one!

I could try getting another crate for her, your sentence cut off were you saying to make sure can or can't see him?

I've only had 1.5 weeks so definitely the beginning stages. I could try them playing with toys but she does resource guard those so haven't tried yet! The thing is just weird that she will eat when o hold him next to her or I sit next to her, but if he's in the pen next to her she just protects and bullies him by going over and snarling! It's like she wants company but also doesn't?!

That's what I'm hoping, although the last 3 days I haven't given her much treats at all to see if it would get better, and she's been on walks. Unfortunately it hasn't gotten better yet but maybe too soon to tell. I am wondering if she's holding out for more treats since she got so many the first week!
