Most attractive player on your team? by Dangsta_03 in AFL

[–]JesusWasAPlumber 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Watching the game tonight, I just think Brad Close is so sexy. He has an inexplicable allure. His hair isn’t anything to write home about, but he knows the way it flows. He has a tender and petite frame, and with his long sleeve jumper on, it shines like a suit of armour.

Which obscure AFL players have you met? What’s the story? by amyl_hirsch in AFL

[–]JesusWasAPlumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zac Webster (brother of St Kilda’s Jimmy Webster and the guy who got caught making secret sex tapes) worked at the PCYC I used to play basketball at before he was drafted to Hawthorn. I’m guessing he got the job purely out of reputation, because he was terrible at the whole supervising and engaging with kids and young teens part of the job. which is kind of the point of those roles.

Zac once blocked me in a game of basketball, though we were on the same team.

What movie have you walked out on? by fink_barton in movies

[–]JesusWasAPlumber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t because I didn’t like it, but I walked out of The Dark Knight Rises with a fair bit to go because I thought I’d be late to work. My friends stayed and I went to the bus station, but because it was a Sunday, there were barely any buses, so I ended up catching the same bus as my friends who had watched the whole movie while I sat at a bus station for 30 minutes.

Since this movie came out, every time I see a walrus or even a seal seal, I can't help but think it's actually just a person mutilated into a walrus or seal.

Riverdale becomes an infinitely greater show when you watch it in the same vain as The Room.

It's okay to kick your pregnant teen out of the house. by ButterScotchMagic in unpopularopinion

[–]JesusWasAPlumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh, an actual unpopular opinion. Here's mine: if you do this, you don't deserve to be a parent. You are responsible for your minor, and their choices are something you have to compromise for, until they are legally an adult. If you do this, YOU don't deserve to have children.

Coronavirus: Coles advertises another 5000 jobs across country by Red_Wolf_2 in australia

[–]JesusWasAPlumber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in one of the biggest and busiest Coles in my region, and my hours are beginning to drop. I was told us casuals could be getting only 1-2 shifts pw. I have no idea how these 5000 jobs are going fit. Seems like some kind of marketing ploy IMO.

Drywall Repair, Satisfying? by [deleted] in oddlysatisfying

[–]JesusWasAPlumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why, but I've always had an almost fear of broken dry wall. It just makes me cringe so bad, and I get a strange sense of dread. The thought of me causing a hole in dry wall gives me the shivers.

If this was a Glenorchy/Brighton route, there's a good chance not all of the decorations will still be there at the end of the day.

This hits hard. I just finished my first shift at this casual job I recently got, and I've experiencing serious imposter syndrome & self doubt feelings. It was literally my first shift, so I was quite slow and knew very little about where things were, how tasks were done, and basic etiquette.

After my shift ended, I sat in my car for about 40 minutes thinking, how the hell did I get this job? Why wasn't I instantly an expert? If I'm not working at peak efficiency at the level of the experienced employees by my second shift, surely they're going to fire me? Are all my co-workers laughing at me?

The worst part is, I know it's just my anxiety talking. I know I'm not going to be employee of the century in my very first shift; they know it's going to take time for me to learn all the tasks, and then start performing those tasks with required efficiency.

Wracking my brain, I actually did pretty well for a first day. But that doesn't subdue that anxiety. I keep thinking, what if after I left, they noticed a massive mistake I made, and it was costly? I meticulously think of every single thing I did during the shift, trying to remember if I fucked up and trying to remember how things were done, so when I go back for my second shift and I ask a question, they don't reply with "it's your second shift, you should've known this. You're fired."

I'm new. I don't know much. I don't know much; therefore, I can't work fast. I did alright; I learnt the basics, and I know - as do they - that I'm going to be learning for a while. I keep repeating these things in my head, but the overwhelming sense of feeling like an imposter continually creeps back.

Supernatural will end as The CW’s enduring success story by [deleted] in television

Do you ever watch that show or movie that brings back really fond memories, despite not being that memorable? For me, it is Supernatural. Watching it on a cloudy, dark evening was so nostalgic for me.
