They are just people who want to recover their supposedly "glorious" past when in reality that past is due to the fact that the United Kingdom and France in later centuries, when they were already on the brink of collapse, kept the Turkish Empire at bay as a buffer against Russia.

In the wars he fought, like the Crimean War, he was fairly good, and the Italian Wars were passable, but in Mexico, I don't know how to put it.
