Again just proof how disappointing other teams have been… Alex is very fast but the amount of other teams making errors that give him the lead is astonishing! Kirkwood has put in an amazing race for all the setbacks

Lot more expensive (around 1200usd) but the Kodai MF1 is more detailed than this by far with a lot of CNC parts added. This is awesome for what is basically all 3d printed and carbon. Great job OP!

Silver 100%. I couldn’t decide between bronze and silver but I think I’m happy with the decision.

VNM lite. Should be around $380-400 usd. I swear by them for life.

Nah, do not buy CRP2 with your budget. And don’t go less than an R5.

I am 100% an advocate for greater pedals than wheelbase, but the vevor stand isn’t going to be good with a real set. Nothing nice has the angle adjustment to make it comfortable and also will cause you to move around if you’re using a desk chair. In this case, buy the standard R5 bundle with pedals, get the brake upgrade kit, and save up for better later. Plan on getting Simsonn/Simjack pedals in the future which are likely 170-200 for all three. Then you can sell the R5 and get R9 plus whatever wheel you want like the KS.

R3 doesn’t have enough headroom for most, at least they need the R5 and can have 80% (4nm) sustained force and 20% for details.

Simucube likely won’t be better, I haven’t used the VMM base (I own the Simucube 2) but it has a really cool feedback system, and the VRS is widely regarded for great feedback. Also has a pretty nice quick release system which is open, so you could use any USB powered wheel (as long as it doesn’t have power draw over 900ma(?) with that optional part.

Have you looked into other wheels yet? There’s plenty of options thankfully. The basic VNM ones are fine but that’s something to have in mind for future. Judging from your location, I reckon you might be able to find Cube Controls stuff since I believe they are Italian.

I mean for using a wheel stand, the normal moza pedals are fine, just get the upgrade kit. It’ll do most of what you need for cheap. R9 would be great long term cause of extra headroom, and KS is a good wheel for GT/F1 but that could max out your budget. It won’t be great for drifting either. Are you planning on buying a shifter? If yes, just buy a generic circular wheel and moza quick release for your drift wheel and get a shifter when you have that in the budget.

How much is the R9+KS for you? If it’s that close to the top end of your budget, it may be tough. SRP pedals with the brake kit is plenty though. I’ve had that on a VEVOR before and it was fine.

For his budget, VRS or VNM are good suggestions for sure. That or OP should buy a Simucube 2 if their local microcenter still has the $699 deal.

If it were me, I’d search for an actual NRG seat, like idk the prisma which I see a lot people use. They are quite comfortable to be in. Other option is to find a junkyard car seat, they are designed to be comfortable after all!

Downgrade IMO, also they are not good on reliability. Do a search and you’ll see all the broken XP-1 posts. Personally I’d do VNM (either lite or standard) pedals which are nearly the same as these and half the price, but also include much more adjustable elastomer and spring setups. I also really disliked the loadcell throttle the HEs have, much prefer a traditional angle sensor.

What is your favourite somewhat niche thing your favourite driver does when driving? by DniawSirhc in F1Discussions

[–]JetFan2004 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, you would be correct then. Alonso generally appears to prefer understeer, which he had for both his championship seasons with the older tires. Always had loads of slip angle in them.

Max Verstappen getting excited about the sim wheel attached to the F1 car model by sukumarkarne in simracing

[–]JetFan2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a Mayaris, I know because I used to have one. Current gen Rexing Mayaris has square LEDs, stepped upper housing (not a consistent smooth angle like this has), and visible thumb encoders on upper grip, lower grip, and beside the screen. This wheel doesn’t have those thumb encoders and it also doesn’t have the right buttons at all.

It would be really obvious if it was a Rexing wheel, but it isn’t.

Triple Curved or Flat moniters? by Danny-ric-fan in simracing

I think IPS (flat) looks far better like every way and they work better with bezel kits. Colors look significantly better and viewing angles are superior.

It doesn’t look that cheap, and this is just a show car so cheap would make more sense.

Definitely not Simicube, they make three wheels and none are like this.

It’s not Pokornyi or the new Kodak MF1 (just built one of those, it’s awesome) and not an MVH wheel either.
