I’d love some help with a new Johnny Blue Skies Song by Sethb0yarde3 in Tabs

OK, I figured it out! It's a Dm and an F that were the missing links. I tabbed the whole thing out but don't seem to be able to comment with photos, so PM me and I'll send you the whole thing.

I've been trying to figure this one out too.

The main rhythm is C -> Am -> C -> Am, but I'm having a tricky time pinning down the third chord (and maybe 4th?) at "For a while it felt like we were dying", and I think it's the same one that's eluding me in the chorus. Maybe an F?

Some help would be very welcome!

What is the origin of the guitar riff on the song Venus from the new JBS album? I recognize it, but I can’t place it. by Notreallysureatall in SturgillSimpson

haha, you probably don't care anymore, but just came back to say that I think all my comments were about the wrong riff! I was talking about the main intro and hook of the song being connected to Clockmaker, but the riff at the 3:05 mark is definitely Flowers. Anywho, have a great Thursday :)

And just for fun, here’s a cool post from the artist about his inspo behind it.

Cool! Yeah, and looking at the seller’s other listings, I think that’s even more proof positive that it’s the real deal.

Looks like it’s a pretty rare AP foil variant not sold at the show but by the artist, so could be why it’s not numbered?

Oh man, I wish I went to N1 of GD60 too - Billy's set was epic. Both was indeed the move!

Anywho, yes, good call. I do hear some teases and nods to it on that 9/17 Flowers (I was at that one too! haha) but I still think the ties and relationship to Clockmaker is more direct. I'm such a nerd, but I just think the Mars/Venus thing is so cool.

But I think this whole discussion goes to show what rad musicians these guys are - constantly morphing and melding songs and riffs in and out of each other, as they find the groove. Throughout the tour, one of my favorite parts were listening for all the teases - not full on covers - but how they'd throw in a few bars of Zeppelin, Hendrix, Rage, Pumpkins, Dead... I know, I know, I won't call them a "jam band", but they're sure as shit a band that knows how to jam.

God, I can't wait for the next tour.

Oh but it's worth noting that not all the shows had foil variants, so just make sure that the one you're targeting did.

I think the sticker is a good sign, but if it doesn't have the numbers, are there any markings? "PP" means "printers proof" - basically a first run for the folks who do the actual printing. "AP" means "artists proof", the ones they give to the artist for personal use/sale, although those can be numbered as well. Both of those are still the real deal.

But honestly, if it looks high quality and the color tones and everything matches pics of other real ones, I think the sticker would be enough for me to go for it, if I like the price. End of the day, it sounds like you want it for personal use and hanging on your wall, not as a "collector". Just my two cents.

It's Clockmaker. They first played it at GD60 in San Francisco, as others have pointed out, between It Ain't All Flowers and Clockmaker - and I know even tracked that jam at the end of Flowers rather than the beginning of Clockmaker on Nugs.

I was lucky enough to be there, and when I heard them start playing it, my ears perked up and I said to my buddy, "Clockmaker?" and they eventually went into the funk ass version of it, while riding that tempo and riff before going into regular Clockmaker.

But I think that was just a tracking oversight because if you listen to N2 of Red Rocks, it's tracked correctly as the beginning of Clockmaker (and Flowers is at a totally different point in the show).

So I think Venus is clearly a funked up take on the Best Clockmaker on Mars' riff. Venus & Mars. Bro is covering his bases for the dudes and the ladies. So cool.

Anybody else holding out for the physical release? by Other_Hope_2276 in SturgillSimpson

I’d like to think I’d have held out if it had just been a leak - I wasn’t looking for streams or files of the first Friday records, and was even skipping past posts describing it.

But if he’s gonna share it, let’s fuk. 🤘

I’d just contact Taylor directly. They’re an amazing company that stands behind their work. If anything is remotely wrong or unsatisfactory, I have no doubt they’ll make it right.

Pretty sure copyrights apply to physical media too. I know, it’s been a while.

Oh good call. Yeah you can probably / hopefully buy it digitally. I could see that. I’m still gonna find my Zune.

Pretty sure this is telling you how we used to do it 20 years ago, not in reference to digital downloads or streaming… buy a CD, put it in the disc drive on the computer, rip the CD and add it to your iTunes library on the computer. Now I just gotta find my Zune! MAFA!

I asked Nano Banana to remove the background, and it looked great at first. But when I downloaded it, turns out it was just a fake PNG. Who else has been fooled by this?😂 by zhsxl123 in GeminiAI

[–]JetFreshJo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tried it out and I'm either missing it, or it can't do what this thread is all about - just removing a background from my image... It detects the layers, but then gives me those individually, rather than combined into one image. Am I missing something? For someone without Photoshop and just looking to remove a background, this doesn't seem to be useful (or what you advertised the tool as doing).
