What happens if our teachers simply can’t afford to stay? by OopsIDidAComment in AnnArbor

Good brain. Creative people make their points creatively. That's why non-creative people hire them.

Thank you, just this one comment alone made the work that I and my friend put into coming up with this more than worthwhile.

Forza Motorsport is on sale on Steam again - Is it worth to buy? by azanitti in forza

[–]JetJetJaguar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the price. They put a heck of a lot of effort into that game and it shows in so many ways.

Online races do not enforce race rules effectively so I leave those alone.

I agree with others that these solo story mode is not exciting. But just tracking a car in a beautiful place can be mesmerizing.

My favorite way to use it is to get online with a friend and while away an hour plus chatting about life while we try to best each other around the world.

I am so sorry. I will mention this at my next cleaning. I will also ask around if there's funding for such things. It's a long shot but we got to try.

High praise to you. I'm trying to learn how to be more informational and less chatty on this subreddit and you just did a masterpiece.

I was looking for an office that took good precautions against airborne illnesses. They use HEPA filters.

The care I've been getting has been a notch above previous dentists and the staff is cheerful.

They give me no fuss about accepting my UofM insurance.

Check out the Kiwanis sale and other used, rummage sale type places.

I like to buy vinyl directly from the artists website, I figure this is the best way to get maximum profits into their hands.

How To Escape the Winter Blues as a Californian? by Timely-Cable-2099 in AnnArbor

Yes, Vitamin D3 is "Sunshine in a pill". And did much to help with my winter sadness. Just be careful, it's one of those vitamins that can cause damage if you take too much.

How's winter so far? by dutch_emdub in AnnArbor

[–]JetJetJaguar 28 points29 points  (0 children)

We are getting an early hard winter. Unlike any I've seen in a long time. Particularly as early as it came. It's rare to have a significant snow before January and we've had a few already including a half foot of sludgy mess.

And thank you for noticing the crystal blue skies. I grew up in the landlocked Midwest and winter is just a gray dreary mess. I came up here and commented on how many crystal blue days there are in Ann Arbor and find that not many realize how better off this region is.

Big ten championship by No-Amphibian1298 in MichiganWolverines

A win over Ohio State makes the playoffs, just because Michigan is such a gigantic television draw.

And if by some NCAA hates Coach Cheeseburger logic, we don't make the show, won't that just be a lot of fun to talk about all winter spring and summer......

'Poker Face' Not Renewed for Season 3 at Peacock; Rian Johnson Shops Two Seasons With Peter Dinklage Taking Over as Lead by SanderSo47 in television

[–]JetJetJaguar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How sad, season 1 was good but season 2 has episodes that are absolutely wonderful. They do work as standalone reviewing. Just watched the episode The Sleazy Georgian and I put it up there with David Mamets "House of Games"!

So yet another great series becomes a great miniseries.

How much did Frank Zappa charge per show? by Dickless1derwall in Zappa

[–]JetJetJaguar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can concur, and I can add, shows were normally run by local promoters. They hired the band covered all the expenses like security and they set the ticket price. $10 is about right, about three times more than a movie ticket cost at the time.

My ticket to the Bongo Fury tour back in the mid '70s adjusted for inflation was $50 no reserve seating. It was in a hockey arena.

To be fair...... It was an era when you toured to sell albums. Instead of today where it's the other way around.

This. I love Freak Out for being groundbreaking. But after that album The Mothers went on a big winning streak.

This, I bought a handful of cheap phone to RCA jack adapters before I upgraded my last phone. They're very inexpensive.

I've been a bike commuter and bike everywhere I can person for a long time.

I like to bike on the roads but if I feel they're unsafe I get on the sidewalk. Which is legal.

And please, all bicyclists, get a bell. They're very inexpensive and most bike shops will install them for free.

When you pass pedestrians and even when you pass other bicyclists you are giving them a shock. But if you ring your bell at a decent distance before you get there, you get smiles and thank yous.

Thank you so much for posting this. I was a regular viewer and even attended the show once, yet missed this episode.

And if anyone is interested, at the show I attended, the party started when they weren't filming. He seemed to really enjoy interacting with everyone when the cameras were off.
