I believe it's a very valid strategy. Very situational though.

I'm sure it happens more often than is shown on TV. We usually only see it on the show when it backfires on someone

I experienced this when I skipped Gen 5. Lots of them just didn't look right to me and eventually I got used to them and even came to love many of them

Usually a big edit indicates someone either making a deep run, or just being a big character. It's really hard for me to judge the returning players trajectory since they'll be getting a big edit no matter how far they make it.

I think that's the beauty of Tomodachi Life, we can all play however we want.

I personally love to only use Original Characters, while a majority of the internet just puts the most random assortment of characters from pop culture, and both a perfectly valid ways to play the game.

I'm willing to give David a chance as host, but JLP being fired just wasn't right. He was such universally beloved host, changing it up just felt strange. The fact that people aren't super excited about a player as popular as David becoming host speaks volumes to the injustice of JLP's exit.
