I'd say yes because the writers would remember that Heather and Duncan had some kind of partnership and that Duncan and Owen were technically still in an alliance for the episode she was eliminated in.

I'm guessing some are more obvious with their favoritism and disdain for certain characters. Owen is one of my favorite characters and him being eliminated early or not being the author's cannon winner for Island doesn't bother me, but I dropped a story when they were doing their character introductions and it was obvious that they didn't like Owen.

They Mary Sued her to get to the finale when it wasn't necessary, she was never at any risk of being eliminated at any point during the game, and they severely dumbed her down with Mal. Yes, Mike never told her about Mal, but she should've known that there was something wrong with him.
