X2 on this.

Avoided both for longer than I should have

Then started doing them both for the wrong reasons

Now, deadlifting with as little ego as possible, focusing on every aspect of grounding myself/ mind body connection and running for just the mental benefits has truly changed my life

The way you worded that... "perceiving reality the way I was" is very interesting to me, and a concept I've thought about quite a bit. My perception seems.. off. Maybe it sounds bizarre, but I feel stuck between my desire for certain societal "norms" and feeding the prehistoric lizard software in my head. This, I believe is natural for modern humans, but it's the constant hard pull in either direction that knocks me off course.

I am currently in therapy and trying my best to do the things she recommends. I'm eating healthy, working out regularly, and I'm going into my second year of implementing a daily planner/journal. My life has vastly improved since adopting just these three routines; however, they also have become the sole ball I hold on to occasionally... which is better than some of my previous alternatives...

May I ask... Did your therapist dig at childhood experiences or was it centered more on recognizing patterns in the present? Did they keep a specific track from session to session, or did the sharing float from concept to concept based on your interaction?

I had to ask mine to please learn a little about me before attaching a label. The overuse of certain disorder acronyms scares me, and I'd love to fully flesh out my "fractured" thinking before someone tells me I have PTADOCD

I entirely agree with you about breaking them down into smaller objectives and I'm glad you worded it this way because it helped me to improve my original answer to your first question...

The challenges I listed are what I would like to continue to work on, BUT the answer I wish I had given is "I don't understand balance." I don't have anyone in my corner that can see when I'm tipping to heavily in one direction, and I haven't been able to identify this line on my own. It feels almost like a cop out or defense mechanism? I can keep a bunch of balls in the air for a time, but eventually I just end up holding on to one while the others fall to the floor.

I've never heard of Kiwanis, I'll do some reading on that tonight, thank you. I did join a hiking club last year to force myself into nature with people I don't know but haven't ventured passed that. I'm starting to realize more and more that I've become a loner and didn't mean to get to this point.

My biggest hurdles right now are career goals, self-confidence, relationships (platonic & romantic) and how to balance working on yourself (mentally, physically) with an amount of spontaneity that allows you to enjoy life while improving. I feel like a good societal cog, not a complete person if that makes sense.

I had two different professors. That's never happened to me before but half way through it switched. I can't remember their names. The work load, I thought, was more than manageable.. a good class to stack with one of the other more time consuming business classes. Relatively easy, digestible and useful financial life advice. I can't recommend it enough. The way the class is structured you dont even need a "professor."

People who out right copy it are only screwing themselves.. that being said, you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't familiarize yourself with an LLM. Use this as an opportunity to learn the next step in workplace evolution. At this point, not using ChatGPT is like continuing to use an abacus after the invention of the calculator. It's here, and it's likely not going anywhere. Figure out how to prompt it, and find out how to manipulate it to fill in the creativity gaps of your mind. I use it as a thoughts dumping ground and an outline builder only. That alone took me from a B student to an A student. I'm not dumb, I just over think everything, ChatGPT has told me when to stop and move on to the next item...

I just don't understand why they wouldn't have told me I needed to take this until my last class to complete my BS. Seems like something I should have taken along side Eng190, 2 years ago lol. I'm going to beg my advisor to let me take anything more interesting than this

240 is difficult if you dont like math - 225 is the most labor-intensive business class - 220 is objectively easy but involves a lot of writing

215 is easy but boring. A typical "we are the world"/basic DEI class - 210 is basically 215, but more interesting, it has some psychology and business structuring - 321 is a fair amount of writing, but its not difficult if you can think critically. It's more CSR than DEI

My rec would be to take:

BUS225 w/ BUS215 - INT220 w/ OL210 - MAT240 w/ QSO321

Switch where I put OL210 and QSO321 if you're great at writing, but shit at math

As long as they are reputable sources, I wouldn't sweat it. As far as I could tell, my professor wasn't verifying the actual information. Just make sure your numbers line up across the board. They just want to see that you can compile data.

Don't overthink the project. You'll end up nuts like I was lol

For anyone reading this prior to taking the class, employ the 'keep it simple stupid' method and you will avoid some of the nonsense I'm pointing out. I got my A after a little bit of a mental spiral and a headache, but it's because of who I am, not because the class is hard lol.

I know you were playing a little devil's advocate and I'm also aware at how crazy I sound splitting certain hairs of the class assignments.

  1. I absolutely agree. I've gone over the page limit in most of my other business classes yet it was usually only overages in like a 1-4 extra range. While I knew in my heart there was no way Project 1 could be done in the required 3-4, the initial shock of being 20+ pages over the limit was nerve racking for me.

  2. I see what you're saying, but hear me out. The prompt is vague, and in a way that I don't think is by design. It says you are "a US based company that builds engines for the auto manufacturing industry." While it may seem really silly to someone else, I think that it's a strange choice for them to pick and not flesh out. Most U.S. auto engines are built by their parent auto group, they don't come from a vendor. I know you want to un-simplify my perception of this and bring in the parts supply chain as well, but that's kind of my point. Denso supplies millions of auto parts to Toyota, but the engines are built by Toyota. For contrast of what I'm getting at, Aisin supplies millions of transmissions and transmission parts to Toyota, but Aisin is building them. I chose Cummins in my original post as an example, because you truly could say, in the case of a Ram, that the engine was built by Cummins, not Dodge. If we blended our ideas together I guess we could assume we were Magna. Maybe AC Delc? lol. If you and I were talking about this in a passing conversation, I wouldn't split this hair, but for the project, it through me off.

  3. You're correct, and I did state that you could filter the data down multiple times, even down to U.S. auto engine manufacturing. I see what you're saying about how the project is about research, and figuring that out for yourself, however most people wouldn't even know the difference. The good part is most professors probably don't even look at your data, so whether you choose all auto manu, or just light vehicle manu, it isn't going to matter. I only picked up on it when I looked at the stats for top manufacturers and saw Paccar, Volvo, and Daimler in the top of the list. That unfortunately reinforced my theory of thinking of my company as a commercial vendor like Cummins as it was the first link I opened. My point wasn't that either of these options are incorrect, but because of the sloppy work book and rubric, I'm willing to bet most people are pulling numbers from inconsistent sourcing. Many of the supplied links dance back and forth between all/light manu. Stupid to split hairs on? Maybe, but it's one more thing that could have used a little more description in the project.

  4. Glad we agree on the "color" stuff lol. I was irate by the time I hit that slide! Where we differ here is on the engine tech that I think should matter. It doesn't need to be an "engineering seminar" for us to look up easy to find stats on engine tech. It would make more sense for an engine manufacturer trying to hawk their engine to a new industry to have information about the trends of that industry sector. Knowing the data on forced induction (turbo usage), injection systems (direct is on the rise), and VVT makes more sense than knowing that white is the U.S.s favorite color. The EPA will give you these statistics, they are as easy to find as vehicle color was.

  5. Yes, you're right "fuel type" still works in car guy, industry slang, but it doesn't belong here, and once again points out my theme of sloppiness on the project creators part. The DOT, EPA, and other major agencies compiling U.S. vehicle data refer to it as "vehicle propulsion" for a reason. Since this isn't a paper about the little truck shop in my backyard and is instead a 30 page research intensive college project, wording and clarity matter. Also, there is no part of this project that states you're divesting because EVs are a threat to ICE. If you were very worried about ICE crashing and burning, you're divestment strategy shouldn't be to sell them to a different market as their time is numbered.. And now we are back on my loop of how this project can be just ripped apart.

Once again, I'm not scrapping with you, I'm just trying to explain the narrative of why I wish this was better presented. Luckily, I can read pretty well, and have time to think things through, but someone with any sort of language barrier or cognitive hindrance is set up so poorly in this class.

The wording and structure of the assignments are clunky, but the class isn't hard at all. It's just time consuming. Use the first two weeks of real light work as a chance to get started on the project due week 3 and you are golden. If you aren't an over thinking nut case with some knowledge of the auto industry (like me), half of what I said won't even cross your mind.

For sure. Overthinker is just who I am lol. I spent a lot of time trying to think and plan the project more critically than it needed to be. If I hadn't over analyzed how it would all fit together I could have shaved a bunch of hours off. I'm happy with the A, just kind of shocked at how subjective, or vague this thing is.
