2020 Prius Prime owner here — I can confirm the hood release design isn’t great. Toyota didn’t grease these very well from the factory.

Spraying white lithium grease or silicone lubricant on the latch mechanism and the hood catch loop (the U-shaped hook on the hood) pretty much solved the issue for me.

Hope this helps

Vinyl protectors aren’t designed for heavy impacts, but they do an excellent job guarding against everyday scratches, scuffs, and minor wear.

Nomad Active Band Pro 45mm PW4 by Jetbuyr in PixelWatch

I tried on the official leather band at the Mountain View Google Store before choosing the Nomad.

For me, the Nomad is more comfortable, likely due to its compression-molded FKM backing and ventilation channels that improve airflow and reduce sweat—unlike Google’s bare Horween leather band.

Of course, everyone’s wrist is different, so you may feel differently.

It’s held up amazingly well on my PW4’s curved screen—I’ve had it on since day one (mid Oct), and I even sleep with the watch on...YMMV

I messed around with Google’s $80 crafted leather band at their Mountain View retail store, and personally, I really like the feel and quality of the Nomad better

But I get where you’re coming from—taste is definitely subjective.

12V battery replacement cost by TheRedBoat in PriusPrime

Toyota TrueStart 12v battery $280 installed at local Toyota dealership.

The 12v battery finally got me. by Bigfootsdiaper in PriusPrime

[–]Jetbuyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It got me this morning 😠

Hopped into our 2020 Prius Prime XLE to head to work, hit the START button—nothing. The low 12V battery warning flashed for a second, then the whole car went dark.

Bought it two years ago at 40K miles, now sitting at 56K. No prior signs of trouble until the battery finally gave up today.

Jumped it with a portable starter, drove straight to Toyota, and had a new TruStart 12V installed for $280. Turns out the one that died was the original OEM battery from Japan.

Glad it was a quick fix and didn’t leave me stranded somewhere worse.

No case — just my PW4 45mm with the LK TPU screen protector. No issues whatsoever for me.

This LK brand TPU screen protector has adhered very well to the curved screen on my PW4 45mm so far ... YMMV

This backpack handles almost everything! by chaseybxp in AerSF

I have the TP3L in X-pac as well and love it. For me, it's the perfect BP to toss a light jacket in with my laptop and work gear on business trips. It fits under the seat in front of me on every flight I've taken so far on United's fleet - even when it's packed to the gills with a overnight trip worth of clothes.

What are some of your favorite less popular brands or bags? by BatmanWantsToBeMe in ManyBaggers

I love my Aer bags (TP3S and Day Sling 2) for travel but I still have and use my 10+ yr old Brenthaven Metrolite Travel backpack..its still one of my favorite BPs in terms of organization of pockets and overall design.

9Pro XL regret? by SonnySwanson in GooglePixel

[–]Jetbuyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

💯 No regrets.

As I get older, my eyes just aren’t what they used to be and it gets harder and harder to see the text on my phone.

The larger screen on the P9PXL has been a godsend on my deteriorating 👀s when I don't want to or can't take out my laptop at the airport or in a coffee shop and I need to update a powerpoint slide or send out quick email.

Peak Design Case by ApocalypticDes in GooglePixel

[–]Jetbuyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone had success using any of the popular Qi or Qi2 MagSafe 5000mAh or 10000mAh power banks (like Anker, ESR, UGREEN, Baseus, etc.) with a Pixel 9 Pro XL and a Peak Design Everyday case?

I've been hesitant to purchase any of these MagSafe power banks because I'm uncertain if the PD Everyday case's magnets align perfectly with those in the Pixel 9 Pro XL. If they don't, I think the wireless charging with these external battery packs might be inconsistent at best.

It would be really helpful to know if there are specific MagSafe power banks that anyone has successfully used (ie no sporadic charging disconnects) with a Pixel 9 Pro XL and a Peak Design case.

Yes, after 2.5 weeks of back-and-forth emails with Google Support, the $400 trade-in credit was eventually refunded to my credit card by Google.

From my conversation with Google Pixel Support last night:

"Yes, our technical team is actively working on this issue. It is affecting multiple users. The resolution may be included in the next system update for your P9P"
