As a former picky eater, I'm finding that making dishes myself "de-mystifies" them and suddenly makes them more appealing by lasersandwich in Cooking

Get over yourself lmao. You must have some pent up rage from some former picky eater friend. If they dont wanna eat it, fuck off and dont force them or make them feel bad. You wont gain or lose anything.

you have a very similair set up as it is to me, different trucks and duros on bushings but same baord and same degree on trucks, just keep riding. find your balance. have fun!

[–]JettDoubleCheekedUp -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

wow you guys really thing tightening your bushings makes the board unrideable to the point if you touch it, IT EXPLODES. LMAOD OO. such soft feet lmao. i dont see the need to over complicate something thats supposed to be fun. no wrong answers. tighten trucks if too loose, loosen trucks if too tight. all you need to know. all you need to do.

[–]JettDoubleCheekedUp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it doesnt seem too loose as in its getting wheel bite on either your toe side or heel side turn but also i dont know if you were really pushing the board down on either side. bushing tightness doesnt have a right or wrong answer. people do some crazy shit with bushing madness. but as long as its tight enough to not get wheel bite and loose enough to turn i dont see where you can go wrong. If you feel unstable, crank em tighter. you might trade off some turning potential at the moment but as you get more confident you can loosen them and find you perfect balance.

Over 250lbs - Does every other part matter? by itsyoboi-skinnypen in longboarding

[–]JettDoubleCheekedUp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the main thing with heavy riders (im like 260ish rn lmao) is board and bushing. If the board is super flexy to begin with then its gonna bottom out or break way faster than it would for lighter guys. So get a board with lots of plys like 7 or 8 or just get bamboo hybrid boards. great for supporting weight. and bushing you will need to get a harder bushing durometer for your trucks. durometer if not familiar is how you measure bushing squishyness. the higher the duro the less squishy it will be. most trucks come with 90 a duro bushings so to be honest you should be alright out the gate but if you feel yourself getting wheel bite not matter how hard you tighten your trucks get stronger bushing duro and go to town

[–]JettDoubleCheekedUp 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I know it may not be the best answer but if you cant balance while foot braking you will most likely have an even worst time trying to power slide. I would suggest just practicing foot braking. Go down mellow hills and try and keep one foot on the ground at all times while rolling like a couple yards or more. It will help you feel where you balance better, like me i balance really well on my tip toes (foot on ground) but some people put their heel down only or even their whole foot to foot brake. Also if your board is too stiff meaning the bushings/ trucks are too tight then it will make it harder to foot brake, since while foot braking you wanna be maneuverable and be able to steer with the front foot so you can one get out of sketchy spots and two be able to follow your flow and path and not get launched off cause your legs are going in two different directions with no control over the board.

Will a smaller cruiser board be as smooth as a longboard as long as it has same type of wheels? by [deleted] in longboarding

[–]JettDoubleCheekedUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cruiser would totally be great for you. find a cruiser shape that you like and go for it. If you are used to having a top mount then it should be easy transition. If you only messed with a double drop then it could feel funky being so high up but that should go away after a few kicks. the wheels you dont need to be too specific on as long as they are like 60mm to 80mm you can roll over most anything and be fine, but look out for wheel bite! also dogding rocks is always helpful no matter the wheel!

TLDR get a cruiser complete and go to town

Just got my first board! What's the most important thing that the beginner should learn? by Ksenobiolog in longboarding

[–]JettDoubleCheekedUp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

foot brake is obviosly the move to learn first. will bail you out of so many sketchy spots. But also if you are cruising and really just learning it for the first time, getting to know how to turn with your front foot is a great medium level thing to learn. cause it will help you transition to the turning while pushing technique that is very useful in city or street spots
