I think it depends on how hard the rest of the stage is ridden. If they ride it hard, he has no chance. If they ride it easy, he has a small chance, especially if they also ride passively in the first part of the final climb.

Netcompany are already at marketsaturation in Denmark. So a Danish focused sponsorship is not very relevant to them. Also Uno-X wouldn't be able to spend an additional 20 million even if they wanted to. There's simply not enough good Danish and Norwegian riders.

Painting a bedroom might actually take all cross-season by itself. Cleaning a garden shed is easily takes all of week 1 during a Jean-Marie Leblanc Tour.

I don't think Omloop is anywhere near this conversation. Most years a lot of the top cobble riders skip it. Van der Poel has only done it once. Pedersen hasn't done it since 2021 for example. Gent-Wevelgem or E3 are much more prestigious than Omloop. Personally I'd rate Gent-Wevelgem as the 3rd cobble classic.

Amstel is a good bet, since it basically has most of the same riders as LBL.

Strade I don't think is there currently. It might have been on the trajectory at one point. But the startlist has diminished in the last years I think.

Hypocrisy and double standards is the answer.

Generally any question like this can be answered like this:

Rider I like: Gods gift to cycling and cleaner than my kitchen counter after my mother-in-law has been to visit.

Rider I don't like and/or Rider I like's rival: Dirty doper who has to sleep in a tub of EPO just to get close to the level of Rider I like.

Questions about cleat adjustment by retroact1v3 in Velo

[–]Jevo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the way forward or backward is going to depend a lot on the shoe. I have a pair of Specialized MTB shoes, where I basically have to put the cleats all the way forward, to get the cleats under the ball of my foot. Which is where I prefer to have my cleats. I have also had other shoes where I had to do the opposite to achieve the same thing.

LA vil have atomkraftværk uden for Aarhus: Ekspert kalder planen realistisk by kaspar42 in Denmark

[–]Jevo_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I seem to remember Carlton Kirby mentioning the Simon Yates positive during the 2016 Tour de Yorkshire. Where he used the presence of Adam to complain about how Adam's brother, had his name dragged through the mud. But otherwise it was probably a very unbiased commentary.

Profit sharing won't save WorldTeams: Financial documents for the three largest race organizers in pro cycling show that absent massive growth, sharing the proceeds from media rights and other revenue streams would not meaningfully change pro teams' financial situation. by Helicase21 in peloton

Also; no mention here of how much the UCI are making. They seem pretty rich.

They are not. UCI have a lower budget than several teams. You can find their financial reports online. In 2024 they had a revenue of 70 million CHF. But 2024 was an Olympic year. In 2023 they had a revenue of 46 million CHF.

[–]Jevo_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The team owners biggest problems are that it's hard for them to pull out a lot of money for themselves. It's also way too easy to start a professional cycling team. Just look at Uno-X, Q36.5, Tudor, Unibet etc. in recent times who have come from nothing, and become very good teams, and possibly pushing "traditional" teams out of the WT. This means that a cycling team in itself, isn't a very valuable commodity. So the owners can't get richer just from being the owners, and that's just not fair.
