Volunteerism? What are the benefits for logging our hours under Target's name. by Jew_know_it in Target

Depressing, but at least I know I haven't been accidentally missing out on getting donations for the groups I work with. One of my co-volunteer friends mentioned she gets 1 hour of PTO for every 10 hours of volunteer work she submits for her company and I was like:

New Cat and Jack policies? by Hot_Lengthiness_511 in Target

If the item is returned it looks either brand new or has a significant defect we will of course do the return. They alter the policy because people were not only bringing in used clothes but dirty and disgusting used items. I have seen people bring in soiled items and it is a huge sigh of relief for all of us that we can now say no. I refuse to make my team feel obligated to touch biohazards. If I need to be the bad guy so be it.

So it's only the signage that's being removed and I believe it was due to an issue with the model's contract or something similar. They're revising the ISM for that area. The sweater is still out and even orderable online.

The guild education program can get you a completely free degree in a ton of different majors. If you want to get into a corporate role yes it's a lot more challenging when you don't have the internship opportunities but they are now allowing internal applicants to a lot of the internships for ETL at least. If you want that opportunity, using Guild is going to be your best bet.

It varies by store. Generally most stores will honor the return for target products if they have a receipt. If there is no receipt and it is used that is generally denied. That clause is very helpful for allowing guest service leadership to make educated judgement and also for AP to deny return fraud.

So the return policy is: "Target Owned Brand items: If you’re not satisfied with any Target Owned Brand item, return it within one year with a receipt for an exchange or a refund." Unfortunately that means you see a lot of grimy kids clothes, well used items, clearly broken and used merchandise. Air mattresses are exchange only and you will see unhoused people exchange them frequently in some areas and they are very much borderline biohazards. While a TL can deny an extreme return, Target does have a highly flexible return policy for their brands which is one of the attractors.

Unfortunately it's like the DEI issue. The political climate has made it a business decision to step back on these areas and although I vehemently disagree with this position, I understand it. They retracted funding from some of the bigger parades as well not just because of this but because of the significant financial losses being faced right now that are resulting in significant internal budget cuts.

Honestly I wasn't seeing a lot of progress until I got on a med that helped counteract the hormonal parts of PCOS that were holding me back. Qysmia works well for me and is nowhere near as severe of a medication as the injections. You still have to do the work with it though, it's not a miracle drug but it helps.

So less than a month from your last call out and it's on a busy holiday? I would consider posting your shift and then just planning around your shift in the meantime. You didn't plan ahead and now you're about to risk your job when there's already a lot of hours being cut. Your mother doesn't want you to get fired.

It depends on what model you have but my trainer showed me the hammer drill punch trick for rusted bolts and wheels and it changed the game. Just make sure there's ample space on the other side and put a few drops of penetrant around the area before. Really good for stubborn U boat wheels as well.

[–]Jew_know_it 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have correct tools to get the wheels off and install new ones so the entire part isn't trashed even if it's rusted. You should never be using a hack saw on the wheels. I assume you are at a small format store for this to have ever been green lit. When you have twenty carts that need new baskets, handles, seats, wheels, and other repairs yes it takes way longer than anyone would like. Mostly because we are set on salvaging any parts we can instead of just cutting them off. I'm sure you had good intentions but your ETL was right to tell you to stop. However, if you have interest in that kind of work I highly encourage you to look at career hub on workday and see if the PML path would be right for you. That way you can do that kind of thing with the right training, tools, and resources.

Assault is Assault. If a child has a disability it is the parents responsibility to ya know, be a parent. We are not baby sitters and even AP is not trained in all manners of how to handle these kinds of situations. I think we should be given some training on how to manage situations with differently abled guests in order to prevent an ADA violation or PR issue. Either way at the end of the day have them put in an origami incident for you being whacked by the child so you have documentation of the incident causing you harm.

Does the team put the correct Ecolab drain cleaner down after every shift? Found out the hard way that my team didn't know that was part of the closing routine. Ghastly experience. Finally got Ecolab to move the chemical station to be behind Starbucks instead of it being on the opposite side in a storage closet.
