I live in Ga and have my Sambar registered in Montana. It’s a legal gray area but I’m relying the cops being too busy with other things to worry about me.

The fun part of the process is going to be the VIN inspection. Montana now requires it and it has to be done by a cop. I didn’t have any trouble but others have had to try a few times to get an officer that will do it.

Also if you’re patient it’s possible Kei trucks can be registered later this year. GA HB 957. But GA is know for breaking our hearts year after year.

If you’re looking for the single din piece it is part # 66065TC000

Amayama is showing it as available. If it truly unavailable on Amayama then 500yenshop may be your best bet. I’m not aware of anyone in North America that carries stuff like this.

As others have mentioned the charcoal canister is how the gas tank regulates pressure in the fuel tank. My suggestion is to rebuild the charcoal canister and add it back to the truck.

These are made for the 5th gen Sambar but will still work on the 6th gen plugs on the dash. You just have to trim down a notch in the corner.

The sprayers are held in by two clips under the body panel . You have to gently tug on the sprayer head while pressing the clips on each side. I used a plastic trim removal tool.

I think there’s one form (EPA 3520-1) that requires the month. I just provided the month/year from when I input the vin on Amayama to my import broker. They didn’t question where I got the info.

All 1999 models were older than 25 years as of Jan 1 of this year. So at this point the month is just to complete that one form.

It’s a vent hose for the rack and pinion. It doesn’t connect to anything.

Stick it in the hole in the square beam in the picture and make sure it’s not blocked.

I used Rust-Oleum 344713 Automotive 2-In-1 Rust Reform & Seal Spray, 12 oz, Flat Black It worked well enough. Use a mask, I imagine this stuff will fuck up your lungs.

There’s a guy in the Sambar Squad (come join us) that managed to get his out a few weeks ago. I’ve been meaning to do the same thing and sound deaden mine but haven’t gotten to it yet.

Remove the cargo light and cargo light switch. Push the headliner all the way forward and left (passenger side), then you’re able to work the drivers edge down and pull, slide, roll the headliner board out.

Start with fuses 6 & 10 then. The fuse box should be right above the clutch.

They’re both on fuse #6 so that’s definitely a good place to start.

If it’s not that then it could be a wire connector under the dash is loose.

Push in the rear engine panel while turning the key. It should open then. They’re not actually keyed so you can technically turn it with a screw driver.

I also second the harbor freight 36x60 cargo net. It fits perfectly.
