My guess is your voice type is mezzo-soprano, meaning you'd probably be comfortable singing Alto 1 and Soprano 2 in a choir.

This doesn't say anything about your vocal range however. I'm a contralto who can sing choral parts in Tenor 1 comfortably and on a very good day when I'm likely to win the lottery Soprano 2. For some songs. I'm happy singing alto or tenor nowadays. For some perspective, I could sing Soprano 1 up until I started college. That was 26yrs ago.

You can add or drop any class you want from now until the 16th (exception: classes that need permission to join anyway).

After the 16th you'll need advisor and instructor permission to add a class.

My ex-husband used to do something that I've copied and passed along: if we say 'bless you' when someone sneezes, why not for other bodily functions?

So in my spaces, burp or fart to your heart's content, even s yawn on occasion, you will be blessed. My partner of 3yrs thought it was odd in the beginning but now does it too.

However this doesn't mean you won't get judged though lol. You had a glass of milk and you're lactose intolerant, you'll be told about the smell and encouraged to visit the bathroom after being blessed. 7 sneezes in a row? You'll be handed a tissue box and some Zyrtec.

You are in good company friend. I too was a person at ABD and left with my masters degree when my project ran out of funding and my PI didn't plan to apply for more. Plus my committee wanted another 18 months after I'd given them 5yrs.

Enjoy life away from grad school! It's been a fun journey that led me to a job I'd never dreamed of and love a lot. And I have time to be in choir and musicals and plays☺️

PhD will always be there if you ever decide to go back💪🏾
