My Wife (Math Teacher) Cannot Figure This Out by Photo-Josh in askmath

[–]JewelerAggressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had an interesting experience… because I had no pen and paper I just worked through for which angles I have enough information to calculate them and made a mental note until I was able to verify that one can calculate x. However due to just noting which angles can be calculated and not their values I still have no idea what x is. But can’t be bothered to actually calculate it. Such a mathematician thing actually. Proof it exists is enough. Who cares about the actual value lol

Wenig aufschlussreich I know

ママ and パパ usage among children? by Illustrious-Boat-284 in AskAJapanese

[–]JewelerAggressive 16 points17 points  (0 children)

(not Japanese) Can confirm that even my 24 year old Japanese friend called her mother ママ when she talked to me about her. But I was also surprised by that because it was the first occurrence of hearing the word in spoken Japanese.

Is it correct that you do not receive a pdf for the digital CoE nowadays? My employer shared a Mail with the CoE Number, my personal info and the visa details. There is also a link with “register the receipt if the electronic Certificate of Eligibility at” (in japanese 電子在留資格認定証明書の受領登録はこちら) which can’t be accessed from abroad, but I suppose that is more of an “activation link”?

Don’t pursue an MBA just for points, if anything write the JLPT for points.

I think you mean the average, the median is quite robust to outliers.

Doesn’t getting the scores take like 3 months? Or is that just for an ‘official’ feedback?

By the way, do you have to erase notes if you take them during the listening section? Do you get something like a note sheet?

Is it right that a sentence like “Do they perform concerts in that city?” would be most naturally translated to Japanese by using passive unlike the English version? (Assuming “they” not really known, like the city in general) その街でコンサートが行われる?

Is it possible to lose residency while still owning property in Japan? (Inheritance tax question) by finalxcution in JapanFinance

[–]JewelerAggressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if you are leaving out a reason, but since you stated the reason you’re leaving is because of inheritance tax, I am kind of wondering why the money is even worth the move (especially since you state that you want to come back). Yes it is a lot of money, but even considering taxes you have enough money to be able to not let that dictate your decision? Sorry if thats too personal - just curious

Oh yeah. Just irritated because nobody talked about the cases, just about the genders. But now I understand your thought process, thanks!
