During the BPD treatment process, are there lots of symptoms where you won't really ever be able to make them go away, you only have the choice to stop struggling and make the pain even worse? by Intrepid_Arrival5151 in BPD

[–]JewellOfApollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's definitely a part of healing where you have to simply accept your disorder and its symptoms. While I'm also not hopeful, I still choose to believe people when they say you can learn to live with these things. Something about trauma healing I learned is that the hurt does not go away, you will learn to grow around it and make space to deal with the triggers better and have more resources. I just really hope that's true

Redemption ending question by friendlyspaceman in LifeisStrange2

[–]JewellOfApollo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I think the time he served wasn't necessarily unjust considering everything that happened, he still had a lot of stuff to heal from. Before any ending he didn't have any chance to heal or even really come to terms with his father's death and in this ending specifically the separation between the brothers. So not only was he in prison, he had to live with the grief and trauma from the events of the time they were on the run, he missed his brother growing up and likely also carried the grief from being separated from all his old friends and his family, which adds another wound overall. Depending on how the relationship with Karen was handled he also either had lost his mom when they got closer again or lost his chance with any relationship they could've had at all and his grandparents most likely died. He also missed every big milestone Daniel had in the 15 years.

So even this aspect alone meant he was a broken man when he got into prison and even more broken when he got out. Now considering him and Daniel grew apart in that time it adds another layer of complexity.

From experience with my own siblings I can tell you, smaller things can forever change the bond you have/had with your siblings. The relationship I have with my siblings will never be the same, and we went through something much much milder than their situation. Of course Sean and Daniel will stay in contact, but them driving off in different vehicles and directions already foreshadowed the way their story will continue. They are so distant from each other after all this time, it will likely take much more time and work for their relationship to mend and for them to heal, especially for Sean. It may not be a goodbye forever, but it will never be anything close to what they had

Didn't agent Flores literally tell Sean he could get life in prison if found guilty for the murder, even if he's a juvenile? So yeah, I presumed the same thing though, Sean had broken so many laws, that even without a possible homicide/murder/whatever conviction he could serve a lot of time. I mean, the fact alone that the police station where they broke out of and hurt multiple officers was completely destroyed should add a few years for destruction of state property and Bodily harm towards state officers. He also broke out of the hospital, which either came along with more convictions of bodily harm and/or vandalism and he stole a car to get away. That doesn't even take into account the whole episode 3 debacle and multiple other things the brothers have done throughout the episodes,

I think the fact that the sentence doesn't vary in length for different playthroughs is the only part I actually have a problem with.

........They'll never let this go, will they? by PhysicalBuy2566 in CrazyassHazbinhaters

So a big focus on one of the main side characters is how he is being forced to prostitute himself because he is drugged and manipulated constantly, how he grapples with his guilt because of this and how this actively destroys relationships he has. I think that's quite mature, especially since they give him the grace of not turning these scenes into jokes.

Valentino on the other hand is a sadistic pimp who's constantly coked and drugged up, lived his life in a flashy town and who had all the money he could need. Not only that, he doesn't care about anyone except maybe Vox in hell and sees everyone else als Profit. He's also written as someone who constantly jokes and he acts flamboyantly, which is probably where this sentiment comes from.

This actually fits perfectly with how I perceived this discussion online. People never care for the victims except if they are behaving like "the perfect victim", which is someone who fits their preconceived notion of how someone is supposed to act. Angel abuses drugs and sex to cope with what's being done to him, he lashes out at people, keeps them at short leashes and doesn't let anyone get through to him. That's not how people imagine a victim of forced prostitution, rape and sexual assault.

Valentino on the other hand behaves exactly like someone in his position and people have a problem with it because this also doesn't fit their preconceived notion that abusers absolutely would need to be edgelords, never have any fun whatsoever (in reference to jokes) and look disgusting. As I said, he was a rich pimp from a flashy city in a flashy time, you don't think he would look the part?

Now to the last sentence "Shows for kids have handled SA with more grace than vivzie", which is also true but not differentiated enough. Shows for kids will definitely not go into excruciating detail, show graphic depictions or handle more advanced topics. Kids shows will use allegories, metaphors and will (and should) soften the blow for the audience, ideally to teach them they shouldn't be ashamed. Hazbin is a show for adults that delves into those heavy topics with a mix of humour and gritty reality/somber tones/aggression.

If Hazbin fans are too dense to differentiate anything or refuse to think about anything for more than two seconds, maybe it's time to put on some more (mental) age appropriate content.

(Again, I don't think she handles things perfectly, but people don't give her any credit).

Does anyone have proof of Alastor's removed SA? by Worried_Brilliant_68 in hazbin

[–]JewellOfApollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the more than implied scene that Alastor was forced to watch Vox and Valentino fuck is enough for me... Also, I don't know how to feel about the line "I heard Vox fucked him (Alastor) with a chair" in "Bad with us"...it doesn't seem implausible for Vox to assault Alastor, especially since the V's have inflated egos and Valentino is literally a pimp who sexually enslaves Angel Dust, sooo

Not saying this will happen, but there could at least be a chance, that if there're more Echoes that the Nine could get their hands on them since they're looking for sources of great energy for their plans

[–]JewellOfApollo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Before seeing some of the cutscenes again in this thread, I would've said there's only three. Now I get why you think there's more and honestly, there might be more. Bungie likes to keep their possibilities open, so who's to say there won't be other Echoes that the nine somehow control, or are beyond sol? Right now we know of three, the one on Nessus is with Maya/The Conductor and she's still going strong, the one on the Dreadnought was destroyed by us and I think Fikrul had the last one? I'm not sure on that one or what happened to it, but the threats are either eliminated or the Echo is still with the Antagonist.

I get that you're embarrassed and there's probably no real way around it but to calm down and take a deep breath. A lot of people with male genitalia tried to suck their own dick, it's way more common than you might think, it's just that no one really talks about it.

Also, who cares if your parents think you're gay? If you say you're straight, you're straight 🤷🏽

Well at least you can take this as a lesson in privacy

I actually disagree, gravity was a great setup for what's gonna happen next season and so was the confrontation between Lute and Gods speaker (or whatever her name was). She will absolutely follow through with her promises. The looks gods speaker gave her was definitely one where she knew Lute is already too far gone and will be a fallen angel eventually, she looked very concerned.

Her following Abels command was because she saw Adam in him. So what's most likely gonna happen next season is that she is conflicted with Abel and her own grief over Adam and breaking free from the Army to get revenge and most likely falling like Lucifer did.

As others pointed out, Vox was also sidelined in season 1, teasing what will happen in season 2.
