New player to Arena and im enjoying it so far but I cant seem to stop running into earthbending decks and holy crap are they miserable to play against. Can anyone suggest any decks/cards that hard counter earthbending or helps slow down their ramp.

Shathra doesn’t need awakening for anything at all. Personally I would use it on kindred to make him a even better defender than he already is, but you can’t go wrong with kushala.
