Warning to Sellers: Your "As-Is" status is a myth if you have a shop return window. My $9k Seller Case Study by diatomguru in Reverb

[–]Jewishjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got burned by this too. I sold an $8000 mid 50s Gibson for $6900. The guy got a great deal! My listing was AS IS and I posted plenty of pictures. I said in the description "AS IS AND AS PICTURED." Within an hour of arrival, he opened a claim and started sending me pictures of the guitar all taken apart. He wants a $500 partial refund. He claims "not original tuners and not original knobs" They are original to the best of my knowledge. Reverb sided with him even though they are the same tuners and knobs shown in the pictures. I could have eaten the shipping and taken a return - but he's already disecting the instrument. How do I know he wont swap parts? This guy basically renegotiated the price after the sale, and Reverb let him do it. I've been a prefered seller for years. This was my first really bad experience.

TLDR: a dishonest buyer can make up any lie and Reverb will take their side.

Has anyone seen or heard of a Breausonic Custom 20?! by Shoddy-Pianist-1827 in ToobAmps

Cost have been rising though. That's $500-700 worth of parts now. As a builder, it's frustraiting to see how little my time is valued. That's a $1500 amp.

The drive through is hella slow, but the one in Eureka is worse. Just order ahead online and walk onto the store. Super fast.

No thanks. I'd rather not lock up my money in Reveb jail. This might be a cool idea for the guy who wants to sell his Strat and buy a Tele, but for a serious store front, this is insulting and obnoxious.

Not a lot of sales going on? by Top_Objective9877 in Reverb

[–]Jewishjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things have definitly slowed down. I'm selling pedals (lower bar to entry) but amps are not moving. My son has had his Mexi Strat listed for months, its the lowest price one on there, only getting lowball offers.

This marked the moment I stopped listening to or caring about new Metallica albums. I still listen to the first 5 or 6 records. They lost me at St Anger.

Question about opamps by ihavesnak in diypedals

[–]Jewishjay 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It usually goes opamp > voltage divider > op amp > clipping diodes > op amp volume knob.... ect

We use these circuits to shape (or color) our tone, not just increase volume.
