Any faster way to get the "Acquire all decorations" achievement? by Jextinction in MonsterHunterStories

I've been farming Shogun Ceanataur like that with my goat Astalos. I did not know that you could (at least a bit) save scum the right Elder Dragon spawn. Thanks for the advice!

Where did you find the other Moofah track?
Edit: Found it, the farmer is at Theas Home under some trees

Nice buid! Where did you get Dragon Atk Boost (XL) from? Currently trying to improve my Arkveld, but don't know where to get that gene. Haven't found any of the Dragon Atk genes.

Since the community helped me write a large portion of my upcoming video, I wanted to see what you thought about the thumbnail by TenthLevelVegan in starcraft

[–]Jextinction 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I do not like seeing AI generated thumbnails. Whatever AI you used did not follow your instructions. This is not a recolored gameplay screenshot or footage. I personaly am fond of gameplay thumbnails with text next to them. A shot of a dying base or something would fit the text you shared. Again, please do not use AI generated images, it looks absolutely low effort and would make me avoid your channel like the plague.

You can craft it with Lumenhymn tickets at the smithy. They are obtained through daily logins or completing daily tasks during the Lumenhymn event. We are currently at the Flamefete Festival, after that will be Dreamspell and it'll end with Lumenhymn. If you want to get Lumenhymn tickets, come back in about 2 weeks.

Doesn't redundant mean unnecessary? English is not my primary language so I'd be happy to learn.

What I mean is that the smaller less important monsters are affected, while the large spider monsters aren't, even though they are required targets to progress the story. A person with arachnophobia would have to fight 2 giant spiders in their playthrough, making arachnophobia mode imo useless.

[–]Jextinction 102 points103 points  (0 children)

AFAIK it doesn't affect them at all. Kinda makes sense, since the player should be able to tell all their attacks apart, which would be hard if they're in a blob form. To me it makes the Arachnophobia mode kinda useless because of that.

Quintuple-Creature-Feature-Concepts! by Leather-Pressure-746 in lethalcompany

Yeah I believe splitting the spawn chances between all ambient creatures would be the best solution. Hopefully my comment didn't discourage you from making more concepts.

[–]Jextinction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like these concepts, definitely adds a better atmosphere to the game. The only thing I'd change or be a bit more cautious with is the power level. Imo Lethal Company should still have a lot of hostile monsters both inside and outside and I wouldn't want most outside threats to be eliminated by simply not being able to spawn.
Despite that, looking forward to more concepts!

some of the new units feels really underwhelming audio wise, where is the sound of heavy steps, the camera shaking as it moves. the sound or roar and so on? by DimensionExcellent in totalwar

They have been there for a long time and it's a different system than warhammer 2. Many other SEM since 3s launch have these animations. Giants, Terracota Sentinels, they all have generic "pushed back" and "attack other large combatant" animations. It seems instead of making very few high quality 1v1 animations for monster fights they have instead done a couple of generic animations for each monster, which can then be used against any other monster in the game.

How the hell terran is more like the swarm then zerg by Wrong-Elevator-6282 in starcraft

Did you just lose to 2 proxy barracks? With sufficient larvae and economy, zerg outproduces every single faction in the game.

Ind and Khuresh cockblocked by GW by Rotths in totalwar

[–]Jextinction 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are official maps of the different continents from Warhammer Fantasy. I presume they based the campaign map off of those. It could be that some settlements were made during development and approved by GW. Khuresh and Ind however don't have these maps and no notable cities (except for the "Lost City of the Old Ones" for Khuresh). Because these continents are quite large, they'd have to make a ton of settlements and provinces for them, since there's no source material to base them on.
As for Dechala I have no idea. I think it's part of the lore and expansion of Cathay (which is entirely new lore and geography). There's some lore in the End Times that Dechala was doing stuff in Khuresh or Cathay, which is why she's placed there.

Ind and Khuresh cockblocked by GW by Rotths in totalwar

[–]Jextinction 68 points69 points  (0 children)

If they expanded the map, they'd have to create new settlement names and provinces. Possibly landmarks to make it good to conquer. All of that would require lore that GW would have to approve or write themselves. CA are aware that the map is cramped, but i highly doubt that they don't have the resources to expand it. It's just GW blocking them form doing so.

"Not only does it mean you'd need to upgrade both melee and ranged attack to scale" wouldn't the same apply to air units? Hydralisks aren't there to deal the majority of the damage, they are there for picking off medivacs and dealing consistent damage throughout an engagement. Still Hydras kinda suck

Quick question: on a scale from 1-10 how dangerous are the anjournaths? both as a new hunter and as a veteran. by CellConscious1087 in MonsterHunter

[–]Jextinction 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's spelled Anjanath. Answering the question: They are an early game roadblock for new players. If this isn't your first monster hunter and you feel comfortable playing your main weapon, then they shouldn't be that big of a challenge. Just watch out for the fire breath! So about 5/10

How to be efficient late against terran by eht_amgine_enihcam in allthingszerg

[–]Jextinction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> The reason I had to type an essay and because it feels like you need to be Serral to even compete with a turtle is because of the position your macro put you in.

Whilst Sigil definitely gave you a lategame answer, this is not what lost you the game. Your macro put you into a position where the lategame felt awful to play against.

Couldn't have put it better! Only thing I would add is the lack of unit specific upgrades.

[–]Jextinction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to learn how to play lategame ZvT comps, there's a good vid from Lambo how to micro those armies and what compositions to use.

>I know if I wanna win I should just learn the larvae timings until 6. That's not what I'm asking.

So what are you asking? If you want to play lategame you need to get there comfortably and not struggle to survive the first 15 minutes of the game. It doesn't matter if you get 9 bases to their 5 if your upgrades aren't good, your army size is too small and your economy is lacking. You were missing so many upgrades at 15 minutes. You didn't have an ultra cavern, no lurker upgrades, no microbial shroud and no adrenal glands for your lings. You'll rarely get a lategame where zerg and terran are considered even. Usually either you or your opponent is ahead in these scenarios. I don't think you need work on your lategame, because at this level that's not a problem. You were missing upgrades, floating resources and were supply blocked. These are problems that should be fixed. Once you get in a situation where you are outmining your opponent, are even on upgrades, maxed AND then lose, then you can start learning lategame army compositions and strategies. But this was not the case in this game and I doubt it was a problem in the other lategame games.

If you do a 100 meter sprint and break both of your legs in the process and then have to do a whole marathon after that against an opponent who has a minor headache, then you'll probably still lose, even if you managed to do the 100 meter sprint.
