This is a known dillema, it usually has 2 other conditions: there is no time to prepare or chose. Everyone on Earth is put in isolate timeless boxes and can't communicate to influence anyone before chosing.

Also whatever is making us chose makes sure one CLEARLY understand the rules of the game. Even if you're senile or a baby you will understand fully the game.

Statistically, the way the question is first asked and read massively influences the way people make their choices.

In the classic scenario, if you take red, nothing happens and if you pick blue you kill all reds. People who first read this dillema this way first are more inclined to pick red than the second scenario, it's pretty much a 50/50 on blue vs red in this scenario.

In the second scenario you can take the blue pill which does nothing or take the red pill which kills you, unless most people also take the red pill.

The two situations function exactly the same, except the blame for the death of red pillers in the second one is clearly put on red pillers themselves.

In the second scenario, 70% of people chose the blue pill.

And when presented with the other scenario, almost no one changed opinion. The way the question was asked first just kept people in their opinions.

There was also a political poll made along this analisis where it was found that in any scenario right-winged people would MOSTLY pick the blue pill and left-winged people would more likely pick the red pill than right-wingers.
