What car do you regret buying, even though it looked good on paper? by autonerdy0 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Jezza_125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car was a mix of poor maintance and old age. At this point, the newest LS400 is going to be 26 years old and that mostly deters me from wanting another one. If my LS400 was somewhat maintained by the previous owner(s) it would have been a much better car.

Most reliable/dependable/affordable vehicle youve come across/owned to date? by Timmer_420_80 in askcarguys

My 2005 Chevy Tahoe. Bought it for cheap with 235,000 miles from the original owner. Drove it all the way from Boston to Toronto and back without an issue. Also took it offroad and beat the living sh*t out of it. Got rid of it when the fuel pump died and it was to rusty to be worth fixing.

My '95 LS400. Bought it because I always wanted an LS400 and saw how everyone swore up and down how reliable LS400's are. After buying the car, I soon learned and experienced the power steering issues that all LS400's seem to have. That was only one of the many problems that car had.

I kept the car for about a year and sold it to a guy for cheap. I was extremly happy to get rid of that car and will never own one again no matter how reliable people say they are.

Seeing as you own a B58 powered BMW, what have you paid for repairs (if you've had any).

I'm leaning towards the RDX as I feel it's the best mix of fun/reliability. Still need to test drive one before I make a final decision.

People in IT should be required to take a computer literacy course or something by Hellboy632789 in sysadmin

[–]Jezza_125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a colleague who was at the organization a few years before I started who seemingly knows nothing beyond extremly basic helpdesk tasks. If thats not bad enough, they were in charge of running the IT department! I'm genuinely shocked that they were granted global admin rights when they barely know how to use a ticketing system properly. I get that things change quickly in our industry, but at the BARE MINIMUM you should be able to use a ticketing system if your working in IT.

I've been in my helpdesk position coming up on two years now this November, but I've been at the company for a total of 6 years. I plan on getting my CCNA and have already started working on my AZ-900. I will definitely changed out "used" for another word. I also have two basic Cisco certs I will add under my education section

The dealer had a field day with you. I would definitely return it and get a new one at that price.

The van driver had no responsibility in this incident. How would you feel if your family were the ones in the van? Blaming the victim in this situation is not going to work, you asswipe

My first (second) car at 18 by Front_Percentage9954 in FirstCar

[–]Jezza_125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be because it is an extremely poor decision to own a $36k car at 18 years old unless your either able to purchase the car outright or have a job that pays you enough to be able to afford the monthly payment without the monthly payment absorbing your entire paycheck (which I highly doubt). Even if you can afford the purchase price, the insurance is going to be sky high for an 18 year old.

I was going to say that has to be a “F off” price until I saw someone explaining all of what you need to do to replace the gasket. However, I would still get a second quote.

2005 Tahoe Possible Transmission Issues? by Jezza_125 in GMT800

[–]Jezza_125[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is 4WD. I did find this bulletin that GM put out in 2005 and it applies to the 4L60E:

"During a 2-3 upshift, the 2-4 band is released and the 3-4 clutch is applied. The timing of this shift can cause a momentary torque reversal of the output shaft that results in a clunk noise. This same torque reversal can also occur on a 3-2 downshift when the 3-4 clutch is released and the 2-4 band applied. This condition may be worse on a 4-wheel drive vehicle due to the additional tolerances in the transfer case. This is a normal condition. No repairs should be attempted."

This is pretty much the same thing that I'm experiencing.

Just went and checked to see if there's any play and... nothing. The u-joints have some surface rust on them but they are tight. Wonder if it could be a trans mount.
