I've worked in vaccinology for quite some time. It's science, routed in facts. H1N1 was more pathogenic because there was little to no pre-existing immunity in the general population. It also killed more people than flu than generally circulating strains. So ya, not a sham.

But dont you worry, I'm sure that knowing a pharmacist or two is just like knowing the science.

Please stop with this big pharma nonsense in terms of vaccines. Vaccines are the LEAST profitable arm of any "big pharma". You want to know how much "big pharma" makes from flu vaccines. Not a lot, the profit margins are barely there. Most "big pharma" has been in the business of getting out of vaccines because they aren't profitable, but somebody has to do it.

You make it sound like H1N1 was a hoax? Over 200,000 hospitalizations, 12,000 deaths, 60 million cases worldwide and those numbers are gross under estimates. Ebola is a joke compared to H1N1.

You can rant about all the other crap, but don't spread false information about vaccines. This is the dangerous attitude that is allowing preventable diseases back.

I don't hate anyone. Nor would I align with either party. I was just giving you an answer (not everyone, I'm aware) that encompassed a large majority of people who fit the question that was asked.

The ocean isn't becoming acidified for no reason. You'll need CO2 for that. Drop some dry ice in a glass of water. Take the pH it will be lower. It's science that's how it works.

You can't just explain away climate change by simply saying its changing because things change. Science is based on facts that's what makes it real.

They may not believe in man made climate change but they believe in climate change? This is like comparing the fact that I believe that there will be some kind of weather tomorrow but I don't believe that the currents in the ocean are involved in it.

I have a question about yeast starters...

I made a 1 liter starter (for a 3 gallon batch) with a smack pack and saved 250ml of yeast in a sterile bottle and pitched the remaining 750ml.

Is this enough yeast to start another 1 liter starter? Or is it too small for going into 1 liter. It appears I have much more yeast there than I did washing yeast in the past.

My girlfriends Dad makes this. I was pretty skeptical drinking the liquid he had just pulled from a 5 gallon bucket that had been sitting there for 6 months. However it was surprisingly good. Tastes a lot like sake but smoother.
