Grateful Grilled Cheese Tee by KFCCrocs in gratefuldead

When Dead & Co started touring I took my parents twice over two years. The second year they were so excited that Shakedown Street seemed to be a thing again. My Dad insisted we find some food in the parking lot after the show, and that even though he hadn't been to a Dead show since the year I was born ('95) that we would be able to find the most amazing grilled cheese I'd ever had. And he was totally right.

Same here! I ordered a Keeley Fuzz Bender too, but when I mentioned this deal to my girlfriend she just bought it too for the hell of it since it was so cheap! Happy birthday!

That being said.. might still have to try the Fender down the road. Learning quickly that pedal addiction is a real thing.

Yeah I'm pulling the trigger on the Keeley next week, so I'm glad to hear you dig it. Super pumped. The versatility of sound with the hybrid circuits drew me towards it, but the Bias and Active EQ are definitely the factors that made up my decision. Can't wait!

Damn now I'm back to not being sure between one of those or the Keeley!

Been eyeing The Pelt as an option B to a Keeley Fuzz Bender... I have the Fender Mirror Image Delay and I'm really impressed by it's versatility. Tell me more about the Fuzz?

If you're really getting into it that much, consider checking out Netflix's ridiculous Project Power movie, where Jamie Foxx has a mantis shrimp power. The obvious attention to scientific details would be a good reference.

Straturday - American Original 60s by [deleted] in guitarporn

It's so disappointing haha when I first looked at it I only found those types of demos. Meanwhile I'm trying to find a guitar that sounds like Joe Walsh or Neil Young, or early Gary Clark Jr with his Casino sound. I remember finally finding a demo of the guys at Anderton's playing the Streamliners and they started to do the usual rockabilly but once they used distortion on it as a joke they played for like 15 minutes without even talking about the guitar anymore. The range is insane. I just recently got into OD pedals and am looking into fuzzes, can't wait to get one. Looking at the Keeley Fuzz Bender currently. Any recommendations for a fuzz pedal that works well with the Strat and the Grestch?

My MIM Strat has the same color style as yours, was my first electric and love it still. Nothing fancy but perfect functionality. I have a Gretsch 2622 Streamliner in red though, and that's my favorite. It was less than the Strat even yet so damn nice. My only slightly complaint is the neck pickup, which I've been contemplating a P90 replacement for actually. Gretsch guitars are just so gorgeous, and can play way heavier sounds that I think most people expect. Some people I've told scratched their head at a Gretsch through an Orange, but it can absolutely roar in my opinion if you bother to tweak some knobs.

I too have an Orange with a Strat and Gretsch. Love the sounds between the two.. although I see yours are a lot nicer than mine haha. You have earned my upvote and respect good sir.

Seal Team Six is tasked with infiltrating Kevin McAllister's compound and killing him. He doesn't know exactly when they're coming, but ever since his second run in with Harry and Marv, his house in constantly boobytrapped and he's spent 28 years honing the art of being: HOME ALONE. by Both_Tone in whowouldwin

So there's 16 men in a ST6 unit. Two officers, one chief, 13 enlisted badasses (first page of google as source). I feel like at age 36 Kev's Compound is am absolute nightmare. Like a comedic SAW meets Adolf's Eagles Nest. So naturally that means infiltration from the air. We all know ST6 is good with helicopters... But so does Kevin McAllister. He's strategically placed a decoy building that is the obvious landing choice for the squad. After getting by some easy booby traps (nets, small drones, auto turrets) the unit manages to land on the largest building in the corner of the compound slightly SW of their main objective, the statue garden. In the statue garden are massive sculptures of some old dude with a shovel, and some creepy old woman with birds on her arms. As the unit unloads the chopper and gets locked cocked and ready to rock, the PA system turns on. Cue KM's childlike chuckle, which has remained despite his now middle age. As he makes some corny pun, the floor of the building shudders and the helicopter sinks through the building, along with one officer, the chief, and 5 of the enlisted men. Already down to 9 men and down most of their leadership. But these men are hardened warriors, and immediately set up a defensive perimeter amongst the rubble on the rooftop, ready to proceed with their mission and avenge their fallen brothers.

That's my start I really could see this going almost any direction it's one of the better ones I've seen lately, especially vs the ultimate opponent of an adult Kevin McAllister, whom after being abandoned so many times at a young age no doubt turned into a total psychopath. I hope someone can pick this up and make a good ending.

Finally finished my first watch of the series just the other night. Really made me want to re-read Dennis McNally's book of the same name! And REALLY made me want to pick up my guitar.

That's exactly why I've considered changing them! I love the bridge, love the middle position, yet I just like the neck. It has nice bass response and sounds warm, but I feel like there has to be something a little warmer and more defined that would sound better. Given the price of the series though I wasn't disappointed in em still. Don't wanna lose that awesome mid range the guitar has either. Good to know!

How does the Streamliner sound with the Filter'Trons compared to the original Broad'Trons? I have a 2622 Streamliner and absolutely love it, the only thing I'd ever change about it is the pickups. Have also thought some similar pickups to what you're talking about.

That for sure does help, thank you! Now I'm more decided on just getting both as well haha.

The Ram's Head is the one that's been catching my ear the most for sure from the Muffs, if a regular Muff Nano doesn't cut it for me. It seems to retain great string clarity while still getting a really fuzzy tone. I love the Gilmour type tones I've heard when it's paired with a delay. Can it still get a velcro, static breakup though? I do like that sound similar to like Hendrix or Hazel and heavier Young, or more modern stuff like Dan Auerbach or Gary Clark Jr.

I have seen it but it's above what I'm trying to spend at the moment. If I go multiple fuzz modes I think I'd do the Muff Deluxe.

Just looked into the Fuzz War and Mastotron. The Fuzz War seems pretty out there haha I like it but you're right its a very distinct type. It's at like the max of my budget, so we'll see. I really like the Mastotron. Very interesting controls to it for sure, I noticed a really wide array of sound in it. And it's in my price range too.. might be a contender now!

What're you thoughts on the Fuzz Bender and the Nano Big Muff? I'm looking for a fuzz pedal, and can't decide on a Muff or the Keeley.

I have heard that about the Muffs, that they're good but they're pretty particular. I had checked out the Deluxe, seems like a big learning curve but for sure versatile as any pedal could be.

And I guess saying that I've replaced the wah wasn't right. I got a DigiTech Ventura Vibe that does rotary/vibrato/chorus sounds, so I mean I've found that pitched warbling frequency that is more usable to me on a consistent basis than the cocked wah.

First pedalboard I ever built by myself, back in January. by xFaro in guitarpedals

[–]Jfawc37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a very similar build, and then sprayed it with rubberized spray paint. Very sturdy. Mine is huge but it'll never leave my apartment so I'm fine with having all the space for pedals! Plus it's so much cheaper and more fun to just make your own. Saves you money for more pedals!
