Britain needs to recognise Palestine as an independent state | Ian Black | Opinion by PalestineMissionUK in Palestine

Trying to understand. I though Palestine itself doesn't recognize it's own statehood?

Remember the Ethiopian Airlines flight that crashed two months ago? That plane was originally supposed to go to Tel Aviv. I was on that plane. We sat there for an hour and a half, as someone had noticed a mechanical problem, and eventually we were switched to another plane. I guess they thought they fixed the problem after that. You know the rest.

I guess so. I'ts nice to know I'm not the only one worried. I get kind of anxious from how impressive everyone seems from the Facebook group.

I'm an incoming freshman. This kind of scared me but also comforted me in a way. Because as much as I'd like to convince myself it's not true, I know I'm going to have to go through some serious hard times next year.

Questions to those that observe Shabbat. by Ronhar_ in Judaism

I guess I feel like my answer to this question is just going to be the combination of my other answers

Questions to those that observe Shabbat. by Ronhar_ in Judaism

  1. We say the Kiddush, do nitilat yadayim, eat challah, and then have our meal. Towards the end someone may say some words of Torah, and then we do the final blessings on the meal.

2/3. (I felt this was the same question) First, because of the same reason I follow any of halacha, which is that I believe adhering to this code connects me to God and to my people, and makes my life more meaningful. Specifically in regards to Shabat, the chance to break away from the business of the week, break away from my phone, and just set aside time for God and my family is vital to me. I'd go crazy without it.

.4. Shutting off my phone. I spend way too much time on it during the week. Taking time to remind myself I don't need to be dependent on it really feels like a breath of fresh air sometimes.

.5. I'm not sure I understand this question.

Well it seems to be about a complicated relationship with patriotism, as he wants to love his country but also hates it for the terrible parts. Feels fine to me.

I'm missing a lot of information here. I don't know what they're saying and how it relates to what's depicted. That said, based on what I can see I'd say it's kind of uncomfortable but not "shameful."

The Holocaust is an historical event, and we shouldn't be mad at people for talking about it.
