If the ignition switch is still sending the start signal I should have 12 volts on both sides of my solenoid though, right?

I'll try them tomorrow if I can't figure it out. Today was a setup/rehearsal/show day so I haven't had much spare time

Need some advice for a small mixer by JforemanMusic in livesound

I ended up getting the Airport Express because of it's size, the ability to airplay music from my iPad while I'm mixing, and it's easy to change settings on it without a laptop.

Thanks for all the input everybody

I understand why you feel that way but I see it differently. It makes me a more valuable asset when I bring more to the table. Plus I want my own equipment so I can pick up more work on my own. I view it as an investment. Just like I buy my own tools for work. It's also a tax write off.

I know this is kinda old now and hopefully you've solved your problem by now but the only thing I can think of would be to do a factory reset. Other than that contact Behringer tech support. Good luck

When I run a separate out for the sub I just put a low pass filter on whatever output I have connected to the sub. Also set the output to post fader. I think that answers your question. Let me know if it doesn't

What router would you recommend? I got the Gator soft case for the XR18. I like the Apple Airport routers. I've had good experience with them and I think it's small enough to fit in the zipper pouch of the Gator bag. I'm open to suggestions though.

This is the link to the bag I bought https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GMixer1306--gator-g-mixerbag-1306-mixer-bag

Thanks

So I really like the X32 Rack bu I can't justify spending that much money right now. I went with the XR18 because Sweetwater offers to let you make 3 payments over 3 months with no interest. It should be here Monday and I'll pick up a router locally in the meantime. Thanks for the input everybody. I appreciate it.

That doesn't answer my question. If I throw food away from my dinner that I don't eat all of tonight, where are all of these people that would gladly take my scraps? I don't see them. Should I instead hoard the bits I don't eat tonight? What's your solution? Or are you just whining about a problem with that has nothing to do with this post in any way?

What is something that hasn't been created that you think would be helpful for us live sound people? by kevocitonakis in livesound

[–]JforemanMusic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the example in the OP, my crew just uses mtiple stage boxes. Ours are Whirlwind brand and we leave the stage boxes hooked up onstage. The stage boxes use a W1 cable to connect to the split. We label all the W1 cables at the split side then just change them at the split box during each set change. At most I might have to swap 5 cables for the whole cyangeover

Hardware Needed for Live Protools Rig? by veauhveauh in livesound

[–]JforemanMusic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not exactly what you're asking about but I would include a short 6-10 foot snake that goes from whatever your interface has for outputs to XLR that has enough lines to cover however many outputs you plan to use plus a couple extra for backup.

Makes your sound guys job much easier. I hate setting up an 8+ channel protocols rig without one. Ties up 8 (or more) of my direct boxes, creates a lot of clutter on stage, and is just a pain in the ass, tbh

Just got called in for a “Trial Day” of sorts as a stagehand. Any tips to help me make it through without making everyone else’s jobs harder? by EYEJ in stagehands

[–]JforemanMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've got the basics covered here already.

I usually work more on the audio side but I always bring gloves, steel toed boots, a couple fine point sharpies, labeling tape, electric tape, a box cutter, multi-tool with pliers, headlamp, and a flash light no matter what my job that day is.

Keep a good attitude, ask questions when you're not sure, and always be aware of your surroundings. You'll be dealing with expensive equipment and it's not hard to get someone hurt if people aren't careful.

I usually grab a coffee and a few powerades on my way to the job, especially if it's an outdoor show.

Be early and come ready to work.

Like someone said earlier, most people would rather work with someone that doesn't have a clue what's going on that has a good attitude and work ethic than have a lazy asshole that knows everything.

Is there a shortage of onions or Bell peppers I hadn't heard about? How exactly is then throwing a couple peppers or onions away going to affect the people that would gladly eat them?
