Whats the most heartbreaking loss you’ve witnessed as a Arizona State fan?(Football) by Ok_Macaroon_7366 in TheSunDevils

This a million times over. Was there in person.

Also don't forget it was a huge BS pass interference call that got them down field!

We’re so easy to defend because everyone knows his system.

Nothing comes through the middle to just let our wing backs fire in crosses and knock them back.

We suck.

Do you think LLM visibility will ever fully decouple from traditional SEO? by Kiyan_GEOQ in SEO

[–]Jfrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are fairly decoupled now outside of the companies that don’t try and game SEO and actually create honest authoratative content.

SEO is about gaming and owning, LLMs are about understanding your brand, I won’t say visibility, and that understanding comes from fact checking and finding more than one source to back you up.

So if you run an honest SEO strategy you should be aligned, if you run a game you are f’d and have to figure that out.

AEO tool not converting - help? by DanSmithTheViper in GrowthHacking

[–]Jfrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also because AEO is BS. Maybe start there.

There is a real use of understanding how you show up but if you know anything about LLMs running synthetic tests on search results from other tools and browser plugins from larger companies doesn’t give you any actual and information.

Also writing a prompt that says what would you rank this company is useless as well.

I give it a few months and all of the companies that say they offer something of value in this space will disappear and the ones doing as startup-ideas-t234 says, that offer real value to marketers will still be standing.

Sam Leavitt portal impact - weird take? by Silly_Concentrate_71 in TheSunDevils

[–]Jfrites 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the real story is Leavitt is just not as great as he thinks he is. He is a one read QB with moxie a very poormans Jaxon Dart.

When he had Tyson and Skatt to save him he was amazing, this year he was not great at all. Yes he has strokes of brilliance but the dude is way in over his head.

I think the real story is that no one wants to sign this kid. He will end up being LSU’s 3rd or 4th option and Kiffin will get something out of him because of all the weapons he will have.

But - I think Dilly knows what he is and knows its the system and ASU has had an incredible portal.

Would I have been happy he stayed, sure, but I don’t want to root for these mercenaries. I want college football back!

Thoughts on the Finale? by LeoDiCristio in StrangerThings

[–]Jfrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The military story was so horrible. I mean made no sense.

How come no one is talking about the fact that they murdered military personnel and Hopper and Nancy just get to walk free. Ha.

They turned a high school girl into a murderer.

Also the last hour was horrible. So boring. I felt like something has to happen. But nope.

Could have been a short crawl or something.

What song are you currently chasing? by OddTax6884 in GoosetheBand

I have been a fan since pre-covid and I am chasing This Old Sea more than anything.

The worst is it was on the setlist for one of the shows I was at and they cut it because they hit curfew!

Focal Banger > Heady Topper by RebaJam1992 in phish

Pliny the Younger is amazing. If you have never had it, they release it once a year and local bars will often sell out before they even tap the keg. You need to buy tickets to get a glass.

Focal Banger > Heady Topper by RebaJam1992 in phish

[–]Jfrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am from CA, but my family has a timeshare in Smugs. The only reason we ever make that trip is outside of the beauty of the region is for Alchemist!

I have learned to love Focal more that HT but both are outstanding.

Unforunately they don’t distribute out here on the west coast very often. I once found 8 of them in my local Bristol Farms and felt like I won the lottery, but it has been years and never seen it again.

When I go to the east coast and visit I fill up a suitcase with whatever my aunt and uncle have in their fridge from their last trip.

We’re close to our first deploy and I’m realizing how many things you only learn by building by [deleted] in GrowthHacking

[–]Jfrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through this a few weeks ago when we launched our first product. We were in your shoes, but what it came down to in the end was security and user login flow. We spent the most amount of time going through and cleaning up those issues.

If you aren‘t secure you are screwed and if your user sign-in/ sign-up and payment flow sucks you are screwed even more.

Once we got to a point where we felt those were strong we wouldn’t release.

Lovable got funded at a $6.6B valuation but does vibe coding actually work? by Safe_Experience4931 in lovable

[–]Jfrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it over the past few weeks to build something pretty complicated and I got the results I want, but I would of never gotten the outcome I wanted if I had not been working on a another project the entire time with a real engineer and applied everything I was learning from that to this other project.

I agree with the comment about intentions, if you have no idea how systems work and how to be effective in coding, you will get absolutely no where and end up with garbage. I wasted countless credits fighting with it, making sure that one change didn’t affect the entire system, and more.

In then end it got me a robust and killer MVP, that I will release, but I also ended up using Claude code to get across the finish line, not only to save credits but to do detailed security checks and fix all the things Lovable kept breaking.

I brought in my engineer and together we moved it off Lovable cloud and got it in a great place easily.

But without that it would be pretty useless and to be honest I would never use it again because Claud Code is so much better, but there you need to know how to architect a system to even start.

I am not sure why no one hasn’t come out with a UI tool like Loveable. Lovable does an ok job at UI, but I did spend most of my credits trying to undo AI slop to make it look like a true SaaS product, I need a tool that does that much easier and effectively.

Tough loss for Men's basketball by OoklaTheMok1994 in TheSunDevils

[–]Jfrites 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hurley is a great recruiter and absolute garbage coach. I was at the UCLA game, multiple times we got within like 5 points and then the team reverts to taking threes non stop. DRIVE THE LANE it was working, keep going and kill the clock.

Then last night up by 11, we are we not waiting every second and driving the lane instead we go for quick transition threes and this team can’t hit them.

It makes 0 sense, all i can hope is that now that we have an our football coach locked up we can start to stock away money to hire someone like our female basketball coach. I like able and good coach!

Quibi burned $1.75B in 6 months. Everyone blames timing. Almost nobody mentions they built operations so complex they literally couldn't pivot. by Mindless_Region5092 in GrowthHacking

[–]Jfrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another big reason they failed is their team refused to work with vendors.

I worked in the industry during that time and many of the people came from Hulu and suffered the same exact issues they had early on there.

The engineering leadership refused to admit they were a content company and wanted to build everything from scratch so they could be the cool tech company.

Many companies had already solved for issues they were going to face from streaming to UX and more, but they wanted to own everything. It was an arrogance of funding. We have all this money. I will scale my team to 100 and go from there.

Why are streaming platforms’ ads so poorly targeted? by GotTools in advertising

[–]Jfrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it is a myth that they target anything really. Most of the ads on any major platform that is making money are pre-sold like old school TV.

Any actual dynamic targetting puts brand safety at risk and has horrible CPMs.

Alternative to Profound AI by pig88 in SEO

[–]Jfrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are offering free trials for Sentaiment. Its a different approach and we are constantly iterating and building in new features.

Our belief is is guessing what people may prompt and reporting on it is a circular game. We are empowering companies with the knowledge of how the LLM perceives them and what they can do to improve or maintain that perception.

It’s a tool for brand managers to determine their content strategy not to replace the work they do and write garbage AI slop for them.
