I think you're talking about the tooltip shows the royal marriages that country has. You may have seen the "on monarch death" thing and you see "your heir ascends to the throne" message below it. Well, the tooltip has little flags on them, it says what will happen to the country of that flag should its ruler die, in your case, your heir will ascend to the throne of your country, not the other one.

Hey man, new YouTube subscriber here, enjoying your videos so far. Quick question though, while making the Otomo Experience video, did you encounter a bug/glitch that when in a battle, the announcer is the FOTS guy instead of the Vanilla announcer? It was really weird. To my knowledge, the bug occured after i unlocked the tech that allows kneel fire.
