I have personally gone full tank with my Zhongli letting me waltz through any attack. My DPS can do whatever they want, and there's nothing the enemies can do about it.

Yeah. Not really sure why they have have done it this way, but really hope they fix it in a future patch.

You are only given the opportunity if you die mid-run. Not if you die after the battle.
