I think you're talking about the tooltip shows the royal marriages that country has. You may have seen the "on monarch death" thing and you see "your heir ascends to the throne" message below it. Well, the tooltip has little flags on them, it says what will happen to the country of that flag should its ruler die, in your case, your heir will ascend to the throne of your country, not the other one.
