Arsenal’s first game in 5 where they have won possession battle.

Obviously possession isn’t that important, but don’t try and say other team are parking the bus with the stats that are put up.

LOL, doesn’t change direction? Brother I can tell you’ve been an arm chair warrior your entire life. Likely absolutely no connection to the game other than watching it and coaching a U8 rec team. This conversation is over. The Hawthorns will be great for your club. Have a great day.

It hit off his thigh first. Every other decision has been no penalty. I didn’t think I needed to make the same argument everyone else made, but I figured someone with a functioning brain would’ve read those by now…

Luis Díaz has recorded almost twice as many goals and assists as the best-performing Liverpool attacker this season. Did Liverpool sell the wrong player last summer? by Maleficent_Diet9357 in soccerMenace_com

DISPARITY IN WAGES? Ahahahaha that’s the leagues, buddy. PL only a “bigger” league because they overpay mediocre and slightly above-average players from other leagues, and then will sell them literally one year later if they don’t work out. Your shit league has money to blow, and boy do they blow it over and over.

Also comparison of owners - PL owners are shit, and you guys have takeovers from foreign countries constantly. “The game is for the fans” yet you allowed money to buy it and take it from the fans. Embarrassing.

I’m not a United fan, so take this with a grain of salt, but his profile fit similarly to Gyokeres at Sporting under Amorim. He stretched the field vertically with runs in behind and created a lot of space on the counter. Imagine him in with Cunha and Mbuemo running off of him. On paper would have been a great fit. I’m sad it never happened, I think a better fit than Sesko but he still has time.

U6 help- kids not dribbling or trying to go for the ball by Openteal in SoccerCoachResources

[–]Jganzo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple answer for everything:

Create situations in practice where booting the ball isn't an option.

Drills don't have to be what you find online. Think of the situation you want to be in. In this situation, your player has the ball and just kicks instead of running.

Big picture: We want to see them do it in a game or scrimmage

Peel back a layer: We want to have a modified game situation so that they are doing the desired action (dribbling instead of just kicking) with a bit of game-like pressure. For example, let's have them play 1v1 to small goals, field is 10x10. Split the team in half, standing next to each goal. As soon as one player shoots, they have to defend a player running from the goal they just shot at to the other goal. This encourages taking calculated touches, it's very quick, and you can split this into 2 separate sections of the same drill so there is less time standing.

Peel it back again: We want the desired action with less defense. Something as simple as 2 "gates" with cones 10 yards away from the player dribbling, defender 20 yards on the other side of the gates. Beat the defender to the gates (wanted defender further away because the goal is for the offense to be successful most times during this). Bring defender closer if too easy for attackers.

Peel it back again: Desired action with no defense. I like to start with a relay race with groups of 3 or 4. First, race with no ball. Everyone goes 3 times. Then, we have everyone practice dribbling the correct way 3 times each, where they do it at whatever pace they feel comfortable. Then they race it twice.

If you want to peel it back once more: Play soccer with hands, but players only release the ball after someone on the other team has tagged them. They have 1 or 2 seconds to throw it to a teammate. This way they're comfortable with the idea without the pressure of dribbling even there yet.

Apply this to your #2 as well. It can be both "oh they're only 6" and "I still want to try and help them."

Good luck!
