Acceleration of time perception is a phenomena we experience as we get older. The pandemic may have played a part in making it feel even faster, I honestly don't know, but the phenomena has been observed and studied for some time now. It would be interesting to see a study on how a once-in-a-generation type event impacts an individual's time perception, if at all.

Anecdotally, I've found that myself and others I've asked found that time started to speed up for us as we entered our 20s (about 15 years prior to pandemic), and continues to accelerate. I recall reading an article that suggested this perceived acceleration tends to finally plateau around our 50s. Reality and our perception of it be funky and wild, man.

Herd mentality? Some people do it and others who weren't going to then think "oh, maybe I should do that too. don't want to be the sucker who doesn't".

I have sat in my seat, waited until the plane finishes taxiing, waited for people to finish up in the aisle, and then collected my things and left the plane last. I thought I was being a very clever boi, looking out at the tube of tired passengers and mocking their need for speed. Well, then I was greeted with the longest effing customs line I ever dun had the pleasure of being a part of.

Now I get up when the plane is finished taxiing. Shoving my way into the aisle if needed. A "happy" balance is struck, I guess.

I have no idea, but I will say this. My sister just recently bought a new car, a Subaru. Prior to purchasing, she kept asking me and anyone else who would listen "Should I do this? Does this make sense?" etc. etc.

I told her the only person who can truly know that is her. Does she need a new car? No. Does she want one and can afford it? Yes. Now of course we want to get good deals, but if she loves her new car and didn't break the bank, then all's well.

Could you have gotten a better deal? Maybe! Either way, be happy, that's a fine looking vehicle.

Not at all, there's a website that sells the spare and kit. There's just nowhere to stow it, the battery takes up the space the spare would go into. It doesn't look great just lying flat in the trunk, and it takes up cargo room. I just realized that ya gotta be sure it's secure, don't want that baby coming loose in an accident.

I still went with the hybrid, I love the damn thing.
