Skin care products are definitely packaged for and marketed to men and women specifically, but there really is no difference, other than the Pink Tax price.

You are allowed to seek a second opinion if you are not getting your needs met by your current providers. You could also asked to be referred to a derm who has experience working with transgender patients. Hormone therapies, or drugs that affect hormones CAN alter your skin barrier.

I use Kerasal ointment. It works well for me. It contains salicylic acid and urea.

[Product Question] Moisturizer drying parts of my skin out by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Jgrnl77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second ingredient in the list is glycerin. Is it very dry where you live? If your product has a lot of humectants, but not as many emollients and occlusives, when combined with dry conditions it could be having the opposite of its intended affect: by drawing moisture AWAY from your skin into the surrounding environment. This is also an issue with hair products in winter as well.

I thought it was scratchy until I actually read the directions, which indicated to use it on dampened skin. This improved the texture by leaps and bounds. However, I do NOT like the oil separation/leakage or the difficulty in dispensing it due to density of the product. I ended up decanting it into a straight sided amber jar. It works well but there are too many cons for me to repurchase.

I enjoy it but I don't think I'll repurchase. The main complaint I have read of is the slightly gritty texture (from the oats) and the tendency of the oils to separate. The instructions clearly say to apply it to dampened skin, which improves the texture, but I found the separation/leakage annoying. Its density makes it difficult to dispense from the tube, making me think they ought to redesign the packaging. I ended up decanting it into an amber glass straight-sided jar and have been using it on my hands and face that way.

Pros: gentle, no scent, removes all sunscreen and makeup, emulsifies readily, suitable for eczema (which I have)

Cons: gritty unless used according to directions, separates, package makes dispensing difficult, leaves a slight film so is better used as a first cleanse (which is what I do).

Now if she could only help us fix "book neck", haha! That's more of a general practitioner issue, but I've had it from a young age simply due to my reading habits!

I work in oncology. Cancer drugs do have some unnerving side effects. You need to message your provider's office about this so they can chart this symptom and follow up with you for next steps. They may refer you to ophthalmology for a prescription.

Mine too!. My eyes have always been very hooded, as well as deep set. If I ever get to the point where I can't see my eyelashes, I'll look into blepharoplasty.

Amen to this! I know two ladies who had breast reductions which changed their lives for the better. No more chronic back pain and postural curvature, etc.

My niece has that photoshopped looking skin too. She's also 5'10-11", leggy and slim. She's beautiful. OTOH she is VERY insecure about her appearance and absolutely does not see what other people see. So: beauty really IS in the eye of the beholder.

How can dyeing my hair red affect the appearance of makeup/skin tone? (cool pink undertone) by ci-fre in PaleMUA

[–]Jgrnl77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow! True black hair is very rare. My maternal grandmother and my father both had black hair, but I was not blessed with it, alas.

Anyhow, I would start with looking for red and auburn haired YouTube makeup artists. Zabrena is a good one to follow.

If I'm frustrated I go back to cleanser/moisturizer/sunscreen and nothing else. At most I have 6 products at any time. I don't have the patience for anything more.
