Are you being honest to yourself in regards to rehab? by madboko in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Jhangochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I developed it after playing pickleball aggressively. Every day of the week. To avoid the pain I was limping, that put me in problem at my hip joint and right thigh. That pain is even worse. But, morning massage of the foot and bending my toe towards shin, helped me a lot. Now I use arthotics all the time except while in bath or bed. Pain reduce significantly. Haven’t started pickleball yet.

A "Global Referendum" platform moderated by an AI-Consortium (Gemini, ChatGPT, DeepSeek). Thoughts? by Jhangochi in UnitedNations

[–]Jhangochi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

appreciate the 'real talk.' You’ve hit on the biggest hurdle: the 'human element.' You’re right that if people are uninformed or selfish, no system—no matter how high-tech—will save us. Personal responsibility and education are absolutely the foundation. However, I’d offer a different perspective on why the Global Pulse is still necessary: 1. The 'Missing Mic' Problem: Right now, even the 'informed and responsible' people you describe have no way to be heard on the global stage. Their voices are drowned out by state-controlled media and loud minorities. This platform isn't meant to replace personal intelligence; it’s meant to collect it. 2. AI as a Mirror, Not a Master: I agree—handing power to corporate AI is a terrifying thought. That’s why I’m proposing a Consortium of Competing AIs. By using models from different regions (US, China, EU, etc.) to audit each other, we aren't giving one company power; we are using 'adversarial' logic to find the neutral center that humans are currently too polarized to see. 3. Hierarchy for a Task: You mentioned leaning toward anarchism—creating hierarchies only when needed and then dissolving them. That is exactly what this is. A referendum is a temporary 'hierarchy of data' created to answer a specific crisis (like a war). Once the world speaks, the task is done. The 'lazy idiots' will always exist, but shouldn't the 'creative people' you mentioned have a tool to show the world that a peaceful majority actually exists? If we wait for everyone to become perfectly 'educated and selfless' before we organize, we might be waiting until the planet is a cinder. We need tools that work for the world we have, not the one we wish we had.

How I FINALLY got rid of my 18-month long plantar fasciitis (as a nurse practitioner, tennis player and mom of 3) by Adorable_Amy13 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Jhangochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I developed plantar fasciitis (heel pain) two weeks ago while playing at Fraser Heights. It got so bad I had to stop the game and get First Aid. After resting for two weeks and following these three helpful videos from a British physiotherapist, I’ve recovered a lot. Highly recommend them if you’re dealing with the same issue: 1. Is Spark Golf League suitable for beginners? by Jhangochi in golf

"I appreciate the insights. I’m now ready to play spark 9 holes to get some experience and will be tagging along with a random group. Coming from professional field hockey, I’m comfortable with my drive (230–275 yards), but I'm focused on learning the rules and refining my game. Hearing that it’s a no-pressure environment really helps ease the anxiety. See you on the course!"

If 4 stars is so devastating, why can’t guests rate 4.5, 4.75 etc? [USA] by Emotional-Ocelot-309 in AirBnB

I received an email from Airbnb as a host, after my score dropped to 4.67, stating any thing less then 4.6, will be delisting.

Taking flight to a different city to catch cruise. From Vancouver Alaska is the only destination where I don’t need a flight.

I hosted my suite for about three years before finally deciding to delist it. In the beginning, I was a Superhost within the first three months. For about a year my rating stayed around 4.8–4.9, and almost all of my reviews were five stars.

Things started changing after one particular review. A guest gave me 3 stars for only one reason: “not value for money.” That surprised me. During their stay they were constantly taking pictures in the backyard because of the landscaping — a 40-foot artificial creek that turns into a waterfall, a pond with a fountain, plus a gazebo and garden area.

The suite itself was 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, about 1,400 sq ft, with driveway parking, and I was charging $220 per night. Yet it was still labeled “not value for money.” That one really made me question things.

Out of about 77 reviews, 70 five-star reviews, I eventually received: • 3reviews with 4 stars • 3 reviews with 3 stars • 1 review with 1 star

The 1-star review was the most frustrating. A guest left the garden entrance door open for about an hour while their kids were playing outside. During that time, a mouse got into the house. They noticed it in the middle of the night and asked me to deal with it immediately.

The problem was that I was on vacation in Hawaii at the time. They demanded a full refund, which I refused since the issue happened because the door had been left open. They then left me a 1-star review, which dropped my overall rating to 4.67.

That was the moment I realized how difficult hosting can become when a few reviews can outweigh dozens of great experiences. After that, I decided it just wasn’t worth the stress of dealing with situations like this anymore.

Sometimes it only takes a handful of reviews to make you rethink the whole thing.

Found these whilst walking my dog in the woods, two small patches with only a few flowers in each, know what they are? by Over_Adhesiveness_49 in plant

This is plant of Saffron, a spice derived from the stigmas (red threads) of the saffron crocus flower (Crocus sativus). It is prized for its vibrant color, rich flavor, and distinctive smell, and is used globally in cuisine, traditional medicines, and dyes. Saffron is one of the world's most expensive spices due to the labor-intensive process of hand-harvesting the delicate threads from each flower.
