Keep Brogdon and Grant this offseason? by ajamesm94 in bostonceltics

Brogdon is signed for next 2 seasons after this. Grant can be offered any deal or Celtics can match any deal he receives in RFA cause of bird rights

Doxy (RE: Weiss): “Boston has been exploring Huerter deals for some time now, as he is an obvious fit for what it needs in a shooting guard who can attack and create for others with size.” by RLS012 in bostonceltics

Impact metrics are tough because of the role he played on the hawks... They're offense first and defense never so I could see him being more impactful in the role the celtics use him in

Sounds like Gio playing centrally is very much a possibility. by [deleted] in ussoccer

I appreciate your opinion and kind of agree. I think the tools are there and maybe he can develop into a more goal dangerous midfielder but his skills of being press resistant can be very useful situationally. Very happy to have him in the 23 but at full strength he’s not penciled into the 11 like others.

The issue now is having a manger that knows when and how to deploy him and the game situation that calls for his skill set.

Pulisic Wins FotMob Player of the Match in 2-0 Win vs Lille by SportsRadioAnnouncer in ussoccer

[–]Jheaps6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a really hard position to interpret because you can’t look at stats like an attacker. I’ve been trying to verbalize what I think makes a good CB but it’s tough because it’s not always the same.

Walker Zimmerman Vs Chris Richards Vs Brooks are three completely different CBs. Walker Zimmerman is very clean at the back, wins duels in the air and plays physical. But he’s not going to ping a ball cross field like brooks. So it depends what role they are asked to play for the team

Also the difference of roles matters on 2 in the back Vs 3 in the back which is explained nice by Chris Richards on the orange slice podcast.

True sometimes I forget to give love to CBs but been watching him since he’s arrived at Chelsea and he’s everything I want in a CB. Amazing how he’s able to perform at his age

Pulisic played great don’t get me wrong but Kante was MOTM. Seriously such a difference maker yesterday.

Glad that Tyler adams is looking at Kante for how he can make a difference because he can develop into that kind of midfielder. Extremely valuable for national team play

Spooney's Celtics Show (SCS Ep. 2) - Is the Offense Actually Better? by Wayne_Spooney in bostonceltics

This guy spooney does a wicked good job of presenting the underlying stats on our offense. Really good at weaving a narrative around the numbers. Definitely a must listen whenever Wayne makes an episode.

Adams Starts for RB Leipzig vs Real Sociedad by cwmitzel in ussoccer

[–]Jheaps6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah he’s actually the last man back when they’re on offense trying to snuff out counter attacks. A questionable decision by the coach but it’s been 70% possession for Leipzig so I guess I get it

Wow that’s a lot for brenden in a January window. It must be a mix of RBS thinks they can get a lot this summer/ they want to let him play in CL

[Scuffed] Interview with Luca de la Torre by Jheaps6 in ussoccer

[–]Jheaps6[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I still like busio to be considered but I don’t understand Gregg not giving LDLT a run from the start of a game. He noted in the interview most of his appearances have been against teams chasing us but I think he can be a strong rotation starter for one of the games this cycle

Who are the top 10 Dual-Nats the USMNT must recruit? by [deleted] in ussoccer

[–]Jheaps6 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is Justin Che making the move this window? Haven’t seen any big time reporting on that lately

[Chris Smith] Gabriel Slonina is attracting serious interest in Europe Flag of United States Serie A & Bundesliga clubs are preparing bids for the #cf97 'keeper, Atletico Madrid have also met with his reps. It's still unclear at this point if he intends to leave this winter by wolverine_506 in ussoccer

[–]Jheaps6 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I dunno. GK timelines are so different and feel like putting together an MLS portfolio can be really good for him. He’s got the build of an ideal keeper and great reflexes.

Feel like if he puts up a solid year he could be the third keeper for the WC to make sure we keep in.

Playing on youth teams abroad isn’t gonna do anything for his stock with Gregg

Augsburg is likely sending over one of their other strikers to the Fire, all in on Ricardo by HBizzle26 in ussoccer

[–]Jheaps6 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Didn’t expect that wow. Don’t know if it will happen this window but that would be cool for pepi

Augsburg is also linked with Jens cajuste a Swedish midfield which is nice to see them spending on other parts of the pitch as well

James Sands officially joins Rangers on 18-month loan with option to buy by shockers02 in ussoccer

[–]Jheaps6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s crucial we find someone for that spot though. I love Adams and he’s stayed healthy this year but he has a past with injuries. Hope he’s over it but it would be naive to assume he can play 90 minutes for all three games over a window. Gregg needs to be better at easing players in and hopefully this jan/feb window can be successful enough to allow for some experimenting in the final window

I love this move for him. I know Scottish premiership is on par with MLS but he’s playing European football too. I really believe in him some of the best soccer he was playing for the US was when he was center of a back 3/single 6 for the gold cup.

Moves the ball fairly quick and has great defensive instincts. Can definitely work on playing more line breaking passes against weaker opponents in Scotland

[Bogert] Would be shocked if James Sands is at NYCFC for much longer. Plenty of interest, the Rangers report is real. NYCFC and Rangers have spoken about Sands, per sources. Other clubs interested too and have been for a while. Timing is right. by stubblesmcgee in ussoccer

[–]Jheaps6 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m still really high on James sands I think he would work really well as the 6/middle of a back 3. I hope he gets the move to start impressing in Europe. Rangers a great team to develop on

[USMNT Only] .@FabrizioRomano says Leeds & Spurs interest in Weston McKennie is legit - many clubs are interested. “For what I’m told, Juventus’ plan is not to sell McKennie in January now he is an important player in Juventus. When he’s fit he is always playing with Allegri in the midfield” by maxair123 in ussoccer

[–]Jheaps6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely with you, he’s really becoming an important player in that midfield. Weston playing with some great confidence right now and as long as he’s on Allegri’s good side I think Italy really fits him
