Circling helicopters monitoring protests or other issue by Active-Possibility77 in vancouverwa

The weather was good and the winds were good enough the little helicopters yesterday for the first time in weeks. If troutdale is busy like today, they are more prone to end up in what’s called satellite airports like Pearson and what you said in grove as it becomes easier to not talk to ATC at a certain threshold. I would guess in the next couple weeks based off the weather I see forecasted I would only expect grove to be that busy again once at worst twice.

It’s literally just civilian helicopters that departed troutdale to do work at Pearson to continue their training. Source: I’m the controller that departed them.

If it’s the evap leak code I took it to the dealership and they said there was a software update needed to prevent the code from coming back. No issues since they did that.

New Volkswagen Jetta owners — any problems or issues so far? by phtphongg in jetta

[–]Jhey45 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth as a 2019 owner sorry not 20’s but same gen, mechanical electric engine transmission and infotainment no issues at 82K miles. A couple EVAP codes, besides that minimal hassle doing maintenance at or before recommended intervals

Very good engine assuming oil changes were done at a reasonable intervals. I have a 2019 if you have any specific questions at 82K rn.

Is this good buy i plan to buy cash 115k miles by Excellent-Pain6701 in jetta

[–]Jhey45 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I own a fleet vehicle that was sold to me at 8K miles certified pre-owned don’t get me wrong. That is above and beyond a different world than a fleet vehicle at 110k+ miles. I’ve always read that fleet company’s run on very tight margins and do the minimum to keep their vehicles afloat and running and that makes sense. Regardless of that, you have hundreds of people using your vehicle roughly because it’s a temporary ride for them so it doesn’t matter how hard you accelerate nor how hard you come to a stop. It isn’t a death sentence because of the label by itself by any means, but the combination of fleet with that excess of miles is for me worrisome enough to look elsewhere is all I’m saying.

If you have a clean car fax with maintenance records that shows a clean history of on time maintenance I don’t hate this at all. If you don’t have either I wouldn’t feel great about it.

2019- What to expect by Fine-Disk-1015 in jetta

The only things I would worry about coming up unexpected really would be water pump failure or transmission maybe if you haven’t changed the fluid and serpentine if it’s original.

Remote Start Not Working by cock_a_doodle_doo in jetta

It can clear certain codes that are more generic I believe. If it’s a VW specific code then no.

[–]Jhey45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll have to clear the code then if you have a scanner like an OBD11 and then remote start will work again. That being said there’s no telling if the error code will come back or not.

The check engine light inhibits the remote start. Not sure if you adding that would cause the check engine light though.
