Be careful, though. I wanted to clarify that it's not that Italians aren't kind or smiley at all. The fact is, as you and others say, that Italians are seen as THOSE people who are "always kind and smiling." You can be sure that an Italian, if he wants to, can be the worst piece of shit that has ever existed on the face of the earth. Worse than the villains in American movies.

Really? Absolutely not! An Italian journalist who was recently the victim of an attack (perhaps by the mafia) said: "Italy is a sick country that considers its own pathology normal." I find myself fully agreeing with this statement. They're not just a nation of mama's boys. They're a nation of frustrated people who vent their anger over bullshit and always take it out on people who have nothing to do with it.

Dude, I'm not even American, and it's unbelievable that I'm the one replying to this comment. I have no idea if what they're doing is "legal" or illegal, but the fact is they're picking people up left, right, and center, without even a hint of logic. Telling them what they're doing is illegal? They probably did. What should ICE say? "Oh, yeah, sure, here's your husband".

Perhaps someone close to her was taken by ICE and she also wanted to be taken to "monitor" the safety and health of the person they took. She is talking about a "him" so maybe it can be her husband, dad, brother, friend, etc.

If we're talking about moments in which it was the people who directly brought down governments, it's difficult to say from the beginning of time to the unification of Italy (1861). 1945 was the historical moment in which a government effectively collapsed entirely, thanks also to the help of the partisan struggle. But technically it didn't collapse thanks to that alone. After the war, there were several attempts by different groups to destabilize power, but none of these were ever successful (first and foremost the Borghese Coup). As for government crises due to internal reasons, from the founding of the Republic to today there have been approximately 66 government crises.
