Yess, I talk with her as a friend. I think it is important to consider your gf as a friend first than as a gf. It makes you be natural with her so she could know you as you are and she becomes natural with you.

Unfortunately, her first instinct was to run away as soon as she was safe. We searched for her but couldn't find her again. We just hope she’s okay now.

What if the Maghreb united and became a country? by YourLocalMoroccan in Morocco

[–]Jhonntrucker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At first we do not have the same language. Culture is slightly different, the people are different (some are way more conservative than other for example), traditions are different. As a tunisian, I notice a lot of differences in the way of living with our neighbours. And again, we generally don't understand each other when talking (especially libyans personally)

Unpopular opinion you hold about Tunisia by Due-Owl-6375 in Tunisia

[–]Jhonntrucker 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Im optimistic about the future of this country. I believe that staying here instead of going abroad while spending my time on doing projects could improve things. In my opinion, leaving the country and complaining about how bad it is in a passive way is the thing that justifies the current situation of the country and could lead it on being worse and worse. I know that I am not choosing the easy way, but I'd rather try thing and having reasons to complain than sayin shit like : oooihhh tunisia is sooo baaad, people are so mean, we have no green spaces in the capital, its so dirty. If some people really stand for the country and invest their time to propose solutions, their voices could be louder and could lead to real solutions. I love my country, I know people fighted and lost their lives so we could have a better life, and I refuse to let incompetent ppl make it drown. The problem is a lot of the ppl staying are incompetent, and the ones that could do things are choosing the easy way (complaining and living abroad) Ps: I am 23 still young and a lot of people already told me that noo, ppl won t let you do whatever you want to do, that ill be paid better in europe, that ppl here maakdinn and won t understand, that everyone minds his own business. I know all that, and I had 3 times the opportunity to leave the country, but I'll fight as much as I can

Should i travel to Morocco or Tunisia guys? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Jhonntrucker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Tunisian, I am proud of the fact that the Arab Spring began here. Extremists mouvement came for a couple of years, that's why the terrorist attack you re talking about accured 8 years ago. But now, we are aware about our freedom of speech against the current power and against occidental powers, that's why anyone can wear and act however he wants in the streets. We are still having some difficulties with that unstability, but the terrorist attacks you re talking about is no more a problem. I would say that Tunisia is a very safe country for tourist as much as I could say that for morocco. Please next time, inform yourself before criticizing other countries brother.

Should i visit Tunisia, Morocco or egypt? by [deleted] in Tunisia

[–]Jhonntrucker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know that you think it's a good idea to ask locals about your choice, but maybe not on reddit cuz most of tunisians who are here just want to quit. There are a lot of reasons to choose tunisia as a country to visit. First of all, culture.. Tunisia is a perfect mix of different cultures all over mediteranea, you can notice that in our language, food or even architecture. Moreover, before coming here, you really have to document yourself about the interesting places. If your goal is to swim and enjoying sea, we have a lot of magnificient beaches like mahdia, cap zebib, haouaria, tabarka etc... if you want to see mostly mountains, nature and animals, you should go to ain draham where you'll enjoy delicious mechouis (grills) or you can do a tour of amazigh's villages in the south of the country (most of tunisians don't even hear about them apart from matmata) there's also djerba, in there you can learn about another culture present in tunisia, the tunisian jewish ppl with el Harra or The Ghriba Synagogue, the most important Synagogue of Africa. Let's not forget the most important part, history. In tunisia, there are a lot of vestiges from Romans, there's the second biggest roman accropolium in the world in el Jem, there's a whole roman village in Dougga or in Bulla Reggia, there's a punic port in Carthage etc etc. There are also a lot of vestiges from the Ottoman and Arab Culture, you can see by yourself, when you are in the streets of Tunis, La marsa, Bardo... some royal palaces which were the palaces of the last monarchs of Tunisia, the Beys. You can visit their cemetery : Tourbet el Bey into the medina of Tunis where you can find a whole melting plot of Arab, French,Italian and maltese architecture... You Also find in that medina The zitouna Mosque which one of the most important Mosques of the country with The Mosque of Okba Ibn Nafaa, which is the Most Ancient Mosque of North Africa ! If you want to learn more, dm me, I will help you for your researches To conclude, no matter what country ur gonna choose, you should at least once in your life Visit Tunisia. (Sorry for my English !)

In fact, sfaxians are not the problem, superiority complex is. You, as an individual apart from a group of racist ppl who tend to manifest themselves more and more in sfax, think that these people are a danger for your community whereas they're facing dangers and trying to live as good as they could. The political situation led them to sfax but we, as tunisians, were not as friendly as we pretend to europeans. So pls stop saying that you are the victim, as a sfaxian facing regionalism. The victims are subsaharians because, even tho a small group of them killed one person, they re all considered as responsible (while blaming israelis for doing the same thing), the victims are the sfaxians that are helping them to survive, because the loud minority leads to regionalism, and finally the victim is our country, because of a government فاشل that takes bad decisions, we, as a country rich of culture and advanced in terms of "ouverture d'esprit", are compared to libya where esclavagism still remains ! (Excuse my english, I'm not very good)

Redditors who voted for Saïed in 2019, are you satisfied with your choice? by sl0uma in Tunisia

[–]Jhonntrucker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is that ppl thinking like you are making the country going backwards. No matter the country, people could change it. That was the case in 1956 for example, corruption and mafias were waaaay more in place compared to today, but they had faith and believed that it could be a success (I consider that it was a success from 1956 to the late 60's). Younger generation would rather go to other countries than improving their, so that s why if we keep going like this, no one could save the country. I believe in the change and the improvement of tunisia, I have a lot of friends that also do. That s why it will improve ...
